For releasing the parking brakes with the front emergency gladhand (the truck will roll if you do this - this doesn't supply air to the service brakes):
A gladhand...
What is "add flush"?
Anecdotal, but my trans had 15w40, I pulled the return line(at trans) and let the truck run till it spit some air. Filled with transynd 668 and ran till red started pushing out the hose. Then reconnected and filled to appropriate level. It worked well for me, although I...
No pictures but good steps.
Bolted the locker manifold in place and bloodied my knuckles getting all the air lines back on.
Checked oil in all the hubs and thankfully all was golden. No milkshake, all gears looked great too (as much as I could see though the hole). I did find a stripped plug...
For caging, the front is service brake so nothing needed, middle axle has a captured cage bolt so no need to worry about it missing, rear axle uses normal cage bolts and there are two cans, so two bolts.
Note I have not done this myself yet but it's from information I've gathered, so grain of...
Connector: Canfield Connector 5100-1010000 - you could use normal spade connectors in a pinch.
Diodes: 1N4007 tons of different manufacturers of these.
Solenoid coil and valves I pulled off another manifold. Coils are Metal Work Pneumatic 882765
I didn't use, but here is a compatible coil with...
Nope, already was detached, but is also extremely simple to remove, just one clamp so not and issue for a transporter. Seems most are already off at the yards.
Thankfully they also moved the flapper onto the shorter pipe so no water got into the exhaust (and then to the engine).
Spent a little time on the locker manifold. Had an error on one of the solenoids "open or short" so I couldn't engage the front locker. Also saw an inactive code for another solenoid issue. Taking a look at the manifold solenoids they were in rough shape. Lots of corrosion in the plug that would...
Most you'll get is some anecdotal info, nothing significant enough to base anything on.
Was 15w40 for 1900 miles, changed to composite bearing, now transcend for 800, no failure.
Not one I would recommend, it was a $25 Amazon special I bought since it said it came with 5/16 UNF screws, of course it didn't so I used M8 coarse thread and was able to make it happen.

Got the horn working! Interesting mechanism, much like a brushed motor with how it maintains contact through rotation.
Just needed a few screws and some corrosion prevention on the contacts.
I was reading the mtvr manual and it stated the mode button didn't change anything on mk23 variants. I think it had a function on ones with a PTO however?
Maybe that changed later?
It's a bit of a process, I personally use a dpa3+ and an old laptop with a serial port but many USB options exist. Software for tcm reprogramming, you need Allison doc. If you want to reprogram the ecm, you need cat et dealer. People are around that can do these services (I'm not one) or if you...
Reprogrammed the transmission controller to not aggressively downshift when using the Jake. Also did the same to the MTV. This way I can choose to downshift for more engine braking and it doesn't aggressively max out the revs.
It's the "engine brake preselect shift range" setting. Normally at...
I'm not sure the total plan, however I do want to fit all 4 up front when desired. Thankfully we are all thin so this can happen. I was considering widening the bench seat on each side (there are several inches to gain on both) and keeping the air ride driver seat. Adding a seatbelt is totally...
Has some good info I haven't seen other places. A few diagrams with number identification as well. Since it's a course book the resolution isn't amazing though.

Working on figuring out the horn. The pieces in my hand were just laying on the dash. Figured out how it goes together but I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be a wire connected to the brass part in the wheel. Likely 3 mounting holes and then one for the signal wire. Looks like I'll need to...
