    Finding replacement headlights

I solder pigtails onto the prongs and then insulate with a blob of silicone. Also, there is no way to incorrectly wire up a 24 volt seal beam to make it burn out.

Anyone looking for a seemingly NIB 6.5L engine?

Oh that is nice. GEP too. Example of the yummy surplus that local government gets to pick from. We get the left over garbage.

    M1031 Steering noise

Hmm my HMMWV has that pump and it makes no noise. Lots of times these HMMWV engines were pulled from trucks in a very careless manner. Pump may have ingested big dirt.

    M1031 Steering noise

Is the pump shot? Cummins swap won't fix that.

    New truck in Northern Virginia

If the hood is straight and rust free, might as well use it, no difference from civilian other than color. Well that one has the hood ornament and associated hole. I would find a “6.2 LITRE” ornament and paint the chrome part green, would be unique.

    New truck in Northern Virginia

Looks good! I like the hood ornament, does it say 6.2 LITRE on it?

    Title discrepancy? Or confusion?

For sure it’s a 1971 year model. The title should have the frame number, which starts with 0525. Edit: made a mistake

A couple of questions on new to me Veihicle

There are many many places to have your injection pump rebuilt, the place I use is Home (dieselpumphouston.com) You send it there and they send it back ready to go. The fuel pump (lift pump) can come from anywhere.

A couple of questions on new to me Veihicle

Clamp underneath was for armor that was removed and cut up. Picture ending in 32 is where the CDR valve goes that was removed by GP. Buy a new one from Kascar etc. Picture ending in 06, and 32, yes lots of fuel hoses removed by USMC. GP typically does not do this. Means the fuel system was...

    M916 Engine Oil and Filters

That’s a good question. Since oil changes on these is like a $300 deal, I tend to stretch the intervals since the oil always looks amber on my lightly used 400’s. If you operate in dusty environments, keep with the lube order.

    My first multifuel?

Manufacturer is Kaiser Jeep. M39A2 series. Could be 1965 to 1968. You need two oil filters. Can you start a thread on your M724 please?

    M916 Engine Oil and Filters

Agree with Hammer, that lube order info is dated. I run Delo 400 SDE 15W-40. Takes like 2 buckets and 2 more gallons.

M1025A2's who bought one of the 8

That ship sailed 2 years ago along with $3000 M1025A2s. GovLiquidation was a huge zero in getting the ridiculous sums that Richie is seeing.

Failure rate for Cat 7155 shifters?

If you run the 7155 it makes sense to have a spare shifter for each truck. One day soon the supply will be exhausted and then finding one if needed will suck.

Assessing tire condition- NDT bias tires

The 8 on the rear can be ho hum but your steer tires need to be exceptional. The military tires are special OZ rubber that can last decades, as opposed to the commercial tires uncle started using recently. Well not exactly recently, 20 years ago.
