    Bought a mep-002

There is actually a ground stud located on the fram of the generator. On your unit, its going to be hard to see but stand directly in front of the gauge panel and get on your knees. Then lift the rubber flat at the bottom of your cover and you'll see it and should have a label on the frame...

    Just picked up a 2009 MEP-803A

The fuel return line has been clearly replaced, the original hose is wrapped in a cloth. It may have had a fuel shutoff solenoid replaced or "stolen" at one point. It's sometimes easier to pull parts off a new unit, then it is to unhook a whole generator just because of a solenoid.

    Just picked up a 2009 MEP-803A

Yes the fuel injector return line, should run through the anchor point and I would just zip tie the wires out of way.

    002/003 Glow Plugs

Use a small torch to heat the area around the threads before you start. That will expand the metal to make it easier for the glow plugs to come out. Just be patient because you don't want one breaking off in the head.

    Bought a mep-002

After you get use to the ASK, you can take the side panel off in less than 5 minutes, to gain full access to the maintenance side of the motor. On my generator, it usually takes 15 minutes for me to change the oil and that's taking the cover off and putting it back on.

Anyone ever get their hands on a Fischer Panda SST10?

Start a new thread so we can help but if you decide not to, we've been discussing this topic on another thread Mep002/3 fuel pump question. But sounds like the plunger guide is broken since you have the plunger moving and no fuel. The guide keeps the plunger in place and if the guide is broken...

    Mep002/3 fuel pump question

Needle nose. It will be the delivery valve and a holder. The top of the plunger is flat, with a hole in the center.

    Mep002/3 fuel pump question

Sometimes it takes a good tap. Make sure you rotate the motor over by hand because it will "bottom out" if its on the bottom of the camshaft lobe. One of two things happened, you got really lucky and the plunger stuck at the highest point of travel (which means the plunger guide is fine) or the...

    MEP002A just stopped running

http://www.mixerandplantparts.com/Terex-14242-NO-Pressure-Switch-Set-at-15-PSI-p/14242.htm Here's a link to a place where I buy replacement oil pressure switches. I'm glad you found the problem.

    Bought a mep-002

Good luck, I use the 002a with the ASK for my home backup power. I've had 802a's but I prefer my 002a instead, simple and can excessively overload without problems.

    MEP-803a Crankcase full of fuel...

Yes, use the old shims and move on.

    My MEP-803A

That would explain why you don't see voltage. The reconnection switch needs to be set to 120/240, since your AM-VM switch is set to 240 single phase. You should still have a hertz reading no matter what, so that may just be a bad gauge since the military had to replace some other gauges...

    MEP-803a Crankcase full of fuel...

You may be lucky and be able to tighten everything back together. I would imagine, that the plunger seal is damaged since diesel leaked into the crankcase. If it were me, I would go ahead and replace it because you don't want a slow leak of diesel in the crankcase, to thin the oil again. You'll...

    My MEP-803A

How long did you try to crank it each time? like 30 seconds each time? I doubt you did any damage unless you just keep holding the start for an extended amount of time. I would try to start it again and hold the start switch for about 10 seconds after its running, to flash the field. Then hit...

At least you know what the problem is now.

    My MEP-803A

If you fold down the access door, where your gauges are located, you will see a black box mounted on the back wall, that is the voltage regulator. To the left of the black box, you should see a fuse mounted to the wall also, check and make sure that fuse is still good. In the early years...

    My MEP-803A

Great job getting it going. For some reason your generator has no output. You should always have hertz and voltage reading, with or without load. Did you plug anything into the outlet to see if you had power there? The cap is a bung adapter. You will have a threaded pipe that goes onto the...

    MEP-803a Crankcase full of fuel...

If you were running 12.5kw load, your compression is good. The video sounded good. I would move on to the pumps and if you remember which pump was connected to that dry injector, I would start with that one because I bet that one is the problem.

    Mep002/3 fuel pump question

The plunger is inside the injector pump. In simple terms, it gets pushed by the cam shaft and drives in/out delivering fuel to the injectors. Inside the pump are very tight tolerances and the smallest amount of varnish will make the plungers stick. In the center of the pump, in between the...

    MEP-803a Crankcase full of fuel...

That's what I would think too but he said that he has been using the generator and I'm assuming running good. This engine running on 3 cylinders sounds awful and can't take a lot of load. I guess we should have asked how well the generator has been running?
