One other option which may need looking at. When you burn nasty gas it’ll gum up your spark plugs. If they’re stock, might be able to clean them up. If aftermarket, best bet may be replacing them. My lawnmower gets pissy about sour gas. Fresh gas and a new spark plug works every time.
I’m a 100% disabled wreck. I’ve built a Gun Truck, maintain 2 M35’s, an M1009, M37, and others. I’m currently refurbing a G506. The thing is, it all starts with one bolt and one wrench. 7+ years on the War Wagon and I’m still tweaking it. It takes me between 2 and 3 days to change a tire. I’m a...
Contact Boyce Equipment of Ogden Utah. Their website is boyceequipment.com. I’ve done business with them in the past and I recommend their company. All their information is on their website including phone numbers and electronic catalogue.
She’s an old one that’s for sure. Another oldie but goody is the venerable UH-1. Updated, upgraded, and rebuilt more times than are fully imagined, still flying after 63 years. And them old warhorses will be still in the air at least for another 10 years. Now if I could only find one to restore...
Well I done got one over for them know-it-all’s. Still got my military drivers license! I even still have my Hemmit refueler license! For security reasons, I can’t take a picture of them.
I’ll be showing him at the Fort DA Russell Days at FE Warren AFB, And I’ll be driving in all four CFD parades. I was contacted by the air show folks as well. If I recall correctly, the air show is on the Wednesday of CFD.
A long time time ago while still serving in the Marine Corps, we had this phenomenal task of diving the fuel tanks. On the CH-53 there are two large circular panels that provide access to the main tanks. One removes the outer cover, then the inner cover and finally verify none to very little...
Been a while since last update and I’ve been busy. Paint removal (white and red paint) by sand blasting and paint stripper. I got some citrus type paint stripper, good stuff. Very little smell and does a pretty good job cleaning up large parts. Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll be making it to any...
I’d like to introduce the War Wagon. A 1970 M35A2 with winch built as a tribute/replica of a Vietnam War gun truck. Her armaments include: 3 replica .50 M2 machine guns, one replica M-60 machine gun, one replica M16A1 rifle, several dummy “lemon” grenades and some inert smoke grenades. One of...
. My 1972 M35A2’s have the twist type e-brake handle. My 1970 M35A2 has the whale tale. Not sure what the 211’s have. IIRC, the 1953 M59 has a whale tale as does the 1973 M52A2.
I’ve got some oddball parts that I’m trying to identify. I’m really not sure what type vehicle they belong too. No part numbers have been found on these thing-a-mah-jigs. One is a drive shaft off something and the little doohickeys look like they help attach a dip stick in place. Perhaps you May...
Been busy doing a long list of honey do’s. Not getting done what I want to accomplish but stuff’s getting done. I finally caved in and used some paint stripper. It would have taken an entire bag of sand blast media to clean just one fender. It’s not as bad as I feared as far as smell and...
I found one stash (7 each) of the A1 lug bolts. I know I have more. Just have to find them again...
here’s what I’ve got so far, assuming that these are the A1 lug nuts.
I was inspecting the wiper motors and there’s was what appeared to be some kind of insulation surrounding the driver side motor. I pulled on a piece and a bit of animal fur was attached. So, off with the entire panel. There was a nest, not sure what type of critter made it. Included in the nest...
