John don’t worry even a running vehicle will need a ton of attention to keep running. Also you can make a ton of improvements. This is just my opinion! Get into the hobby you will love it.

I would find one running already. Sitting for 30 years means alot of $ and work to get operational. There are many of them that people have put blood sweat and tears into that would be a better deal
