After you get the wheels off the truck, take them to the big truck tire store and let them change them. It's a PIA on the best day.

Replace the rod bolts. You will also need to get the rods resized when you install new rod bolts.

I doubt you can tell 0.003" of movement in the hub. Do they expect you to use a dial indicator?

The flasher is probably bad. My M929 did the same thing and it was the flasher. If you have another flasher, try swapping it to check.

Make sure there is oil in the transfer case, differentials and stop to check hub temperatures periodically if you flat tow it without pulling axles. Come to think of it, check hub temps even if you do pull the axles. Good luck.
