Alberta just turned up the tap for distracted drivers starting next year. On top of the $287.00 fine we'll also take points from your airmiles card.
It's actually an Alberta demerit point system but I don't see how it applies to visiting drivers. Alberta drivers will receive 3 demerit points...
VIN Number
We might need to dig up David Doyle's book but as I understand it the next truck out the manufacturers door, got the next number. What I don't know is whether they started at 121100001 or not so let's find out. NDT?
Final production numbers between the two countries is also a number...
Once out of the military they would have needed turn signals on public roads. These lights look like a farm add on....quick and cheap, probably wired to a flasher but I need to look.
I'm just not sure if any of the trucks were decked with flashers while still in service. They were still using...
If you do a video make sure the sun is at your back. The camera on a coat on the seat trick works real good to watch the gauges. Great way for you to take us for a ride.:D
How's your 0-50mph times? We're pushing between 46 and 55+ seconds in the old 302's so here's some video incentive. The...
Grab Handles
Kinda rude of us not to follow up on the seal search but I'm guessing you charged ahead anyway. It's been a month man!
I'll try to get a day next week to wrap these up. No trani gaskets for Christmas but Valentines day looks good.
For the record, your donor trucks were Larry...
G749 Identification numbers
Grabbed a few photos so we can see the numbers.
I tried to find the 'red circle' that Another Ahab uses for illustrations but found a white paint pen instead.
The number on the frame will match the data plate.
Once sandblasted and painted, they show up...
No pics but the number is usually buried in paint and will show up with some grease from your elbow.
Behind the front passenger tire is a large flat piece of frame that was used to stamp the numbers. Could be centered on the frame,. in line with the front/ center of the tire.
Once you find it...
Jersey took some decent pics on how he solved the mount problem and I'm thinking there are as many ways to do this as there are people. I'd end up doing it with landscape ties, binder twine and PL400 so I'll keep my opinions on the down-low...
I can't be the only one that had the big smile forced on my face when I watched the videos. :-D Real happy for you! I can't stop grinning so can only imagine how you're feeling.
Great pics of the interior and it looks like it would fit most of the family. Can't wait for the movie to come out so...
Air Raid Siren
Yesterday we recovered a Federal Sign and Signal Corporation, Type 3 air raid siren. We're confirming details on the history and year but some of these were made in Chicago by girls towards the end of the war.
Thought I'd bump your thread, check your progress, add a few pics...
I'm on the learning curve too and your thread is helpful. Somewhere in the pile of text I read that leaving the glow plugs out to prime the system makes things easier. My 1010 had an electric in-line pump added but the thought is, a healthy fuel system shouldn't need it...
CUCV add ons
These last two posts were real helpful and you not only have a good understanding of this, you're a darn good teacher too.

Raining M1010's
As it turns out my mechanic of choice went to an auction over a decade ago and took pictures of my M1010 with the big #2 on the back......small world.
One of the 1010's still had the light, siren, stretchers, body bags and IV waiting on the floor. Thought you kids would...
M1010 diagnosis. No power to the glow plugs. Solution, new relay and momentary switch, by-passing original glow-plug system.
Results.....in addition to recalling why I loved the truck in the first place....the sultry sounds of the 6.2...
Canada CMP
It turns out that the sweet, kind, gentleman who will be stuck fixing the M1010 needed a hand with that very CMP ownership addiction you mention......It's not often a guy gets to see 2 in the mirrors so he took your advice, thank you.
I kinda feel like the uncle that gets to...
M1010 fuel mileage
The M1010 gets the best fuel mileage with this add on. A dually with a 22' trailer.
It's time to haul old Push to a barn with a 10' door, heat and a better mechanic. The sun was shining yesterday when we loaded and hit the bank to pay for the next round of MVestment but...
We're not hearing it fire on any cylinders and now she wants to be hauled to a warm shop with a 10' door to check on injectors, LP lift pump and finally injector pump. I'm curious about compression as well but hoping the problem is much simpler.
It does appear that fuel is getting to the...
TM Thesaurus
I'm almost certain I figured out why the TM's aren't loved by all men.......
We're flipping through the troubleshooting section and they tell me to "Check for Hubbies".....indicating leakage... Not sure why I haven't read that before but if we're checking for hubbies it's...
Don't know how I missed this from June but here is a low fly day at St. Barth's.
Hi-speed, low passes over the hill with Corsair, P-40 and more.......here's the source of the aircraft.
