    Top speed - highway

So contact your congressman and work to get MVs banned from the highways. Show them your proof here. Because 99.9% of the MVs on the road cannot do a 75mph speed limit. Period. End of discussion from me. ps: just don't contact MY congressman :)

    Top speed - highway

You can throw strawman out there all day if you want but the points remain: 1) we disagree 2) most (the VAST majority of) LMTV owners don't have (and will never have) highspeed gears 3) most LMTV owners are going to be on the highway at some point 4) and saying "just stay off the road" isn't...

    Top speed - highway

So by your logic, all LMTVs (beyond the teeny-tiny fraction that have added $8000 worth of "high speed gears" ) are dangerous and should be banned or removed from our highways for the sake of safety? Because they can't do 75mph? I strongly disagree but I'm sure there is no shortage of people...

LMTV/FMTV Quick Parts Reference Spreadsheet not accessible

If I had know it was going to be taken down, I would have saved it. And I'd be happy to share it, but I didn't save it myself. Best to get a PM from someone with it and let them email you (outside of these channels). SS is just protecting themselves from the DoD, etc. :(

LMTV/FMTV Quick Parts Reference Spreadsheet not accessible

I was informed that the spreadsheet contained some sort of "classified" TM material or something. Understandably, if it's not legal to post it on the web....this is the web. That said, I'm sure someone has a copy somewhere...
  7. Third From Texas

    Top speed - highway

Agree to disagree. Unless there's a "Minimum Speed Limit" posted. Doing 100 mph in an LMTV in some attempt to avoid getting rear-ended buy someone else doing 100mph is a) impossible, and b) dangerous af even if you COULD go that fast in an LMTV. Add a trailer into the mix and the danger...

    Your FMTV tool kit contents.

There's a couple good threads in here on the topic.
  9. Third From Texas

    Top speed - highway

That sucks, but I don't see the applied relevance here. How much faster would you have safely been towing that rig? I mean if you were doing 70mph and they had slammed into the back of you at over 100mph it would have ended the same. I doubt the speed limit was 100-105 so.... I get that it's...

    Top speed - highway

I can't maintain 8mpg with my C7 's pedal mashed to the floor. I get 5mpg all day long in "stand on the throttle" mode. My A0 was a bit more consistent at 8mpg. Slow, fast, it didn't cane....8mpg. Of course I haven't done any tuning to see if it can be improved the C7 but some of the...

    M1079 Habitat on FB

Yeah, mine it still intact and works (though it will throw a fault and trip the CB at times). But you're correct in that it's not a good heater for an RV build. It's WAY TOO LOUD, it spends 30 seconds heating up, 30 seconds blowing hot, 3 minutes of fan to cool, then the cycle repeats (all for...

    M1079 Habitat on FB

Dunno. Guy seemed to know his stuff, so I assume legit. He knows there's a subframe attached to the base of the hab. I don't know what a good price is, but he said he's open to offers. I saw one sell for $4K a few years back (private seller). This one looks pretty clean and he said it has...

No, he means the GMC RV shell. He's found a few others that he's posted over the years. It would be a pretty cool project if you were so inclined.

    Niehoff N3030 Regulator/ M1078/ doesn't have flashing light capacity

This is the model I have. Still not installed yet, but it 's slated for later. Used to be a common auction item for ~$100 but they dried up over the years. Used ones can be found from school busses, etc. *NOT mine https://www.ebay.com/itm/165439307341 https://www.ebay.com/itm/384599387041

    lmtv top frame rail moved

Here's one that I had saved that just jumped out at me. It's from a Fuso build over on Expo Portal in the "other overlander trucks" forum. If I recall, the Fuso even has a forward section of frame that curves up along the trans. Not exactly what I was thinking of. I have pics of habs being...
