Great adventures, thanks for taking us along. I need to ask where the pics were taken? We can smell the ocean but can't figure out if that is Delta sand, near White Rock or somewhere else. Beautiful country, I visit often but never enough.
You have such an opportunity for photo backdrops with...
That's my next truck, beautiful! Can you give up a little info for us newbies? Is this one you still have or as the title suggests, a friend from the past?
I see yellow so it must be a Cat. How big dat big motor? What was it attached to it for a trani and do you have more pictures? Any yellow...
Caught a little video coming out of the bush after the rescue and I'm thinking real hard back to any other video that has two G749's in convoy.....Henderson?
Pulled out a laundry basket of tricks to get the deuce out and I bought the chain before I bought the trucks and am so thankful I had to...
G749 Trani Oil Cooler
I had a chance to pull the pan on a spare trani that was given to me.
Got as far as pulling the two fasteners on the oil cooler so just need to figure out how to pull the cooler out.
Here's a few pics of one that sat outside too long.
G749 Trail ride
This is the first time Goose went into the trails and about ten minutes in she slid between a tree and a stump and was not going to go anywhere else. Goose didn't mind hauling kids around at 5mph, or touring the back roads but going around tight corners in the trails and side...
G749 Fall Wind-up
Had a couple Iltis's's's, a five ton and an M37 show up to hang out with the G749 crew.
Visited a 4x4 park, toured the farm, ate rat paks, made noise and drank a lot of water.
G749 Garden Harvest Day
Had a little Labour Day gathering and grannie had to go for a ride.
A few more pics of friends and family hanging around Goose the Deuce.
That one photo of the three girls bending over picking carrots .....or was that corn.....was staged by the girls for your Steel...
CFR stamp on frame
That worked well, I invited SuperDave out and we found the serial number for the M207 Shop Van 52/50358. We also found out that a few of the trucks 'did not' have the frames stamped.
I'll put up a few G749 pics of the girls with the girls if you can dig me up some data on...
G749 Rubber flex lines
Now I know what you're talking about. Topo has you all squared away. It's too bad you're so far away from a brake shop. They'd just match your length and put the correct ends on so you could just remove and replace all you rubber. I don't know enough about the "Axle Vent...
Yes sir, every model I built as a kid growing up had a big white star on the door so this truck can stay a part of the American dream as well.
I'll take any and all G749 vintage pictures. I'll be scanning and hard copying all photos to display in photo albums to display at the shows for the...
Thanks cmpman, Did we track where the trucks went after they were assigned to a base like Wainwright?
We were just talking about what the boys took to Egypt back in the late 50's and if the G749 may have gone with the first Peacekeepers.
Can't Thank you enough for the info...
Detergent vs non-detergent
Good luck on your hunt Brad but you can put your gun down.
What your good brothers here are telling you is that tens of thousands of guys have now started using modern oils in old engines and they haven't had a problem.
Here is a debate that is a good...
G749 Farm MV Round up
We're throwing a Labour Day Long Weekend bash at the G749 farm this weekend so Goose and I made the 40 mile trek west of Edmonton to farm country.
A few shots of M207, M135 (Batus), M211 US markings, Goose the M135 and the rest of the 135's Larry, Prior and Curly.
We...
Had this forwarded to me and thought someone might enjoy it.

Transforming the beloved and versatile Jeep into a train? an idea that came to sound crazy...
A little Alberta, Canada content. My neighbor is on the commercial inspection team for the RCMP and they do not look for anti-seize on wheel studs. They check to see if the nuts are loose and if they are it is not his problem to understand why.
In the aspect of Alberta law it is not enforced so...
Missed the unveil and half the build but here's a link to the finished Starfighter. http://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/aviation-museum-rolls-out-cold-war-starfighter-1.1415620
Pics comin.
You jumped on an old thread so might not see any action but I stumbled across the words Dragon Wagon.
I am looking at one again tomorrow for a possible purchase. I need to see a real M26 so if you get a chance to jump into the proper forum and start a dragon wagon thread with pictures, a few...
M1010 steering column
My 1010 had a smaller late 89 suburban civi tilt in it when I got it until a fat guy crawled through the window and broke off the signal assembly. We put in another one in off an earlier 80's series with the big ol' standard GM wheel and they plug in like lego. Have a look...
Hybrid G749
Did you get pics of you and pop in the hybrid? Bring the camera with you when you check out that other bed. If you're buying there's still that M215 East of you and it could be worth the trip.
We're going to hit a truck with scotch guard pads and let the kids, nieces, grandmothers...
