I haven't seen this discussed. You want to remove the existing axles and up-grade to Rockwells?? That be cool.
Here's a different way to search the Early Deuce threads. I google "Early Deuce Steel Soldiers Archive" and it gives you a list of titles...

Congrats on a triple hitter, wife, truck and retirement. Really appreciate the pictures, that truck is a dream build for me. Maybe some day.
I'm still trying to figure out how you got that tiny loader on the back!
G749 Re-engine front diff solutions
Here's a link to a picture of a 502 in an M211. It cheered me up so thought it would help.

It's not much help but here's a couple of pics...
Ya know that pit in the stomach feelin', I just got it. I've read before that the top torque rod gets in the way when guys were swapping motors.
Looks like they jacked her up for clearance and the springs are all that's left to keep the diff from rolling, uck. From the pic it looks like some...
Do you want the plow? We saw a Crow last week and Grandma always said one more snow when you see the first Crow and we just got it so....spring is here now.
I went through an images search on batus and now I see what you mean. Starting a history lesson.
Helicopters, tanks and trucks in two...
M1010 plowin' adventure
Had another winter blast so took the opportunity to grab an M1010 snow plowin' video and a few pics.
Snapped a pic of the spray-on vegetable oil we use on all the plows and snow buckets just to show that we're always thinking of the MVironment.
As you can hear the 1010...
What a great story this could turn out to be, especially if you get one painted up the way you want with pictures of the other 10 'supporters' in the back ground.
So if they called the second guy on the 'scrap yard' list first..... we may never have had the chance to see them.
Thanks again for...

I googled ...'mapleleafup' batus... and found the post from 2007. Spent some time in the past looking through threads on mapleleaf but didn't see that one, really appreciate the info.
Great stories of the wheel cylinder maintenance demand and tired metal...
SuperDave, thanks for the pic! Not sure if I have the heart to put that back into the colors it has now, ....it ugly.
Maybe we can get some more history on it and find a good reason to keep it the same color. Need to find some paint codes, ......pity.
I was going to share the trucks over...
Mine barks when I release the pedal. Not a big dog bark, more like a terrier bark.
My question would be, 'what could go wrong while it was sitting there'. If you have air pressure up, oil topped off and pads set right.....what could go wrong?
If you pull up the air-pak schematic and ID the...

I only took a few pictures because when I went to see the trucks, spare drive-train, re-built crate engine and spare parts, it was only to visit a friend I met through the MVPA at his beautiful acreage. I was interested in the crate engine but had no idea I'd be looking at a...
I was going to bump the following thread but the title is a little deceiving and the link to pirate4x4 is also on page one of this thread...... but it is worth a review. In addition to 73m819's info on ratings and wear considerations, the link within this thread covers a wide range of winch...
Ran when parked. This one was not restored flyable....and only money keeps it grounded.
Can't find the main link but there is one flying..... and more to come I hope.

Can't imagine having 12 transmissions, still speechless...sort of.
I'm on Chapter 2 of TM 9-8025 301MG and 303M Hydra-Matic Transmission and it's a good read. There's a pile of trani stuff a guy can do to diagnose and repair with the trani in the truck...
Aircraft ID
From the guy that already knew the answer before the questions are asked, you are both fast and educational.
The B-25 is still in the works and the mosi is on static.
I just had to get an aircraft fix.....waiting for your pictures!!!

We rarely see them in the air here this time of year, you're fortunate. With the number of flights you're seeing, might be time for 24 hour video. 8)
I was forced to work at our museum again today and it's a good fix for the flight addiction. Grabbed a couple of bottom...
PM sent, Thanks for getting the schedules up. Might be some locals interested. Really appreciate all the photos, any of those close up shots while you're working are the best.
Great title on the thread too, we can follow this for a couple hundred years.
The tires came with the truck so I'm not sure. I did a quick search online but it's tough trying to look past all the 'overseas' marketing websites with misleading descriptions..., "Good like best Bridgestone" or "Good price as Bridgestone" or "Bridgestone Pattern" or "Like Bridgestone"...
