State Farm would not insure my M818 even though I have my M35 insured with them. I went with Gulfway. Gulfway will also insure trailers. Whatever you do, make sure you read the policy. What is in writing is what you have. I have my M35 tagged permanent antique. I'm doing the M818 the same.

Having done a lot of destructive testing on large bolts, pins, and other hardware I would say it's more likely that the saftly pin failed and allowed the 1 inch pin to come out. The Towbar manual that was posted (4910_496_10_towbar) did not mention safety chains. What we have learned here...
