Mine with no mods does 56~57 MPH on the floor @ about 2150 RPM; that = 6 MPG with no load. Rolls down the road fine at that speed.
50 MPH is a good cruising speed.
Use a breaker bar to turn the engine over. You should be able to get to the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer pretty easy with out the radiator in there. If the engine rotates, you need more cranking amps or the starter is bad.

Antique plates are so us hobby folks don't have to pay hundreds of $ every year for trucks we drive very few miles.
Make sure your insurance company will cover the type of vehicle you have. The 30 day coverage is out the window if your company won't insure that type of vehicle.
State Farm covers my M35 with no problem but won't touch my M818. Do yourself a favor and get a binder in advance.
The Chinese tool store (Harbor Frieght) has a 3/4" impact socket set that comes with a bud nut socket and is cheap. You can always find a 20% off coupon for even better deals. Lately I've been getting them out of the American Rifleman mag and Flying Mag has them too.
Dittos on the 6 ton HF...
I have no problem running a 3/4" impact with my deuce. I have a glad hand and air hose with quick disconnects. Set the throttle at about 1300 rpm and let her rip. Much better than grunting with the tire irons.
