I would fabricate new heavier brackets(possibly welded to the axle housing.
Maybe check your drums for run-out?
Here's what I found. My shelter was a S-318.
It was mounted in the inner door door(escape hatch). The hole was only about 1/2"-5/8" diameter.
It used 3 threaded inserts to hold outside plate and the inside had 3 rivets holding the outside escutcheon on.
It was a bit rusty and far from perfect...
Mine is in an S-250 shelter(iirc).
They also had some funky copper radiator like filter in the door vent.
Bad news is, we got about a foot of snow so I will not be looking first thing this am. If I can find the door under the snow, I'll look later on. Sorry.
What he is trying to do is, get a visual indication when the GP relay is on.

I've had to replace the rotary switch once. It was doing something similar. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
I bought a used(guaranteed) switch from Delk's.
It took 2 or 3 days for him to get back to you, I think that's pretty reasonable.
At least he called you as soon as he saw this thread...
