I will have to check my grounds. More and more I think about this I am convinced the box looks for what the voltage is at power up. A bad ground would cause a voltage drop and thus no joy. Maybe the 7 flashes is a under volt code? Wouldn't this be awesome to know!
Good information and this makes me think there is more to these boxes. When I flip the switch the wait light starts to flash. I wonder if the box needs to see the full voltage when it is powered up and before starting. I know the voltage will drop when the starter and glow plugs are on.
Maybe...
Well the 7 flashes of the wait light. Is this a diagnostic code? if it is for what? I haven't found that posted here. I may have missed it.
I have looked through the forum and seen people talk about one flash. From what I read in the above documents this is a lamp test. this makes since. I...
The stuff I attached tells me what is inside the boxes. I have not been able to find that anywhere. Also I am shocked that no one here knows how the boxes work. This place is wealth of knowledge and thought this would be a good place to ask.
You sure can test the glow plug with a test light...
Thanks for the input! It just I am not one to load up the parts cannon and start shooting. In my limited years of troubleshooting I just don't find the parts cannon all that effective. I want to know how to tell what part is bad. Once I get an understanding of how the system works then I can...
I have been doing some research trying to find testing information and how they work. Maybe my search FU isn't good as I really can't find anything. So I downloaded the patents and took a look.
My focus will be on the EESS , 3S and the TSU.
The issues I have is the wait light flashes 7...
They are real testers just testing the battery differently. They measure the internal resistance and calculate the CCA. For the most part they work... only have an issue when the battery heats up internally and the internal resistance goes up. Both a resistance load tester and the ones that...
Thanks! I believe I did... I have going over it and looking for issues. I could have done much worse. Its mostly there and only missing a few odds and ends. I believe the items missing may have been lazy mechanic not putting back all items. I looked at the tires closer and only one is 14 years...
Got the transmission working. Whatever was in line was on the coil wire of the relay was the issue.
Looks like one of the hoses for the power steering is leaking.
I think I found the reason the one of the master cylinder res was empty. I think I have a leaky front caliper. Does anybody know...
What should be the normal charging voltage for the batteries? I think my is running a little high. 14.6 on and 14.5 on the other and 29.1 across both batteries. The gauge needle is pointing just into the red.
So... Lets not go on about the either and IDI engines. please...
And back to what I asked... What manual has the wiring diagram for the M1152A1? This will be very helpful.
I know how to test glow plug but I do not know how to test the start box... Is there any theory of operations...
OK.... Not too sure how either will harm is small amounts. But hey what do I know....
NOW it the glow plugs are working that's a no go. Then again what do I know.
Not here to argue,.
I have a question... what manual has the wiring diagram for an M1152A1? Also what manual is good for parts? There is an A/C duct that isn't all there (I think)
Things that I have done to this point.
The glow plugs are not working. The truck will start with a small shot of either and runs like a top.
Diesel is leaking on one of the lines on the top right side engine. I think this is the supply line.
The truck had no brakes! Brake light was lite...
I am going to start this thread to have one place I can document the events of my adventures. I will be asking questions and having links to have one place to look. Maybe this will also help someone who also wants to take the plunge!
And this thread would be useless without pictures. I will...
Yes, yes it is... I really want to document this with pictures and video but, well... put a wrench in my hand and the camera is out of mind! I knew the truck would run and I had to move it from where the shipper dropped it. I'll start a new thread with pictures and will up load video and, well...
IT RUNS!!!! and purrs!!! just moved it in the driveway and goes back and forth... Stopping... well that's going to need some work.
The rear res in the master cylinder is empty... got to get some DOT 5 and find the leak. Also there's a diesel leak on top the engine... will need to fix that. but...
