xm211 m211
When this short fat balding guy googles "xm211 m211" there are a few bits of data suggesting the "X" is typical with "Experimental".
Military Vehicles, January 1997,: Re: M211 / XM211
Military-Vehicles: Re: [MV] XM211 vs M211?
We know the XM model was the earlier version and the M...
M1010 Rims
I completely agree. The aluminum Wheels came off a military Range unit and were on the truck when I got it.
You are not the only one to voice that opinion and I'm waiting for the day I wake up and one of the local purists changes them over while I'm sleeping......Still waiting.
I...
Trani trouble shooting
MilitaryTrucks.ca - Welcome!
Military Trucks manages the Technical Manuals for the G749 series trucks and has TM-9-8025-2 for the hydromatic. Even the process for checking trani oil
levels in the 211 has a few steps.
Oil levels correct?
Correct oil?
Filter allowing...
Fluid Compatibility
Not quite as bad as dumping motor oil into the brake system which pulls the inside of the rubber off everything and plugs lines. Sounds like you might have something similar going on. 78 civi chev learned the reason behind the Material Safety Data System. MSDS

1951 da burb
Tanner, there's a few family members that are involved and a 'plan' will be coming from them sometime soon...I hope.
For now it's a tear down and evaluate. I believe we will agree on all original restoration including the "pre-oiler" engine which is supposed to have lots of life...
Gauge assembly
Did you get this solved?
We can always package up a radiation laden Canadian gauge package and send it across the border...........or can we?
Pictures can be attached by clicking on the paperclip after you click "Add Reply" (Lotsa clickin'). Ten 'browse' boxes come up and when...
1951 Suburban
The truck was driven to it's parking spot sometime in the last 3 decades and would probably start with a jump. Prior to firing or even trying to turn it over everything will be removed, purged, cleaned, blown out, lubed, juiced, replaced, measured and weighed. The least we'll do...
Placement
Appreciate the kind words gents! It's good to remember friends........often.
Stan, that's great! What's the reason for the location or when it might have been done for the first time? Can you tell this civilian what it's all about?
Having some historical positioning for tributes...
1951 Suburban
Digital cameras are great for hidden places.
A picture inside the passenger door shows a little age but it's not in bad shape.
3 or 4 layers of paint are poking through with black, brown, semi gloss OD and whatever OD is on top. The green under the hood is in such great shape...
""""""""""Wow that suburban was manufactured on the 26th of sept 1951.One day after my birthday i was Born on Sep 25th 27 years after thats so awesome."""""""""
The numbers are interesting Southern, 'Happy Birthday', Party time comin'. I hear all great people were born in September.

This truck has been outside for most of it's life and tonight it's in my shop for
preservation and retirement.
It belongs to the family of my brothers girlfriend and I asked if we could save it from it's home in a field.
Their history with it goes back over 4 decades when it was used as a...
M1010 lower rad hose
I will get to the ambubus later to see if the original hose has a legible number.
I hate to say 'try this' but if your hose is S shaped, has approx. 1 3/4" on one end and 2" on the other...........
Try this:

Got the info from our local Part Stop in...
Stenciling and Dedicating
You asked the big question Mr.T, maybe we can bounce some ideas around.
If I knew what the first stenciling was that went on, I would do that. Obviously something CDN to match the truck but what it's going to be, I have no idea...
If we stencil the doors they will...
Electrical
I battled through some electrical challenges and it turns out that unless someone is standing beside you, you're on your own. The local builders usually say, "It's just electrical", or "If it's rubber, replace it....If it's electrical, clean it".
Hope you find some local support but...
