Alaska Ready
With each unit responsible for it's own maintenance, trailers were loaded with all the tools needed for oil changes, tire repair, filter swaps and so many other things.

First Gear
Everyone was staged by 700hrs on August 4th ready to head out. The first group of 4 units left 15 minutes early to scout staging areas for the mile long Steel Soldiers to park for the first break.
The final show
The day before first gear the MVPA put on an impressive display with speeches, Government recognition and support for the efforts Private collectors go through to preserve history.
The jeeps, CCKWs, Deuces and other units were well shown with laminated description sheet, flags...

Two Canadian G wagons were dispatched from SALH to accompany one of the contingencies to a few of the local legions. What a show this is going to be for the locals.
First gear is still 4 days away for the largest portion of the MVPA ALCAN trip. More pictures to come.

One of our local five ton's was heading to Dawson Creek after the show to join a few other Canadian MVPA toys also heading through Alaska.

Collector Convoy Edmonton Arrival
The local MVPA loaded the tired convoy onto a bus for dinner and a night off, after some of them drove for ten days.
20 units leave Edmonton tomorrow for another 200 miles including a stop at the Whitecourt airshow for a quick display.
We had a tire pressure gauge fail that allowed an 'over-fill' of 20 psi on an 80 psi tire.
While pouring through Pre-Trip inspections I had one of my 'young guns' grab a tire pressure gauge off the shelf of 10 gauges and help me check the 17 tires carrying us to an airshow this weekend.
