Thanks for that info. The bird that picked me up at the small airfield at Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland was definitely jet powered though. When I got onboard the only vacant seat was the forward facing one by the door. My knee was rubbing the short stowed boarding ladder for the short flight...
I would like to PRE-ORDER a signed FIRST EDITION of the AAR (After Action Report) on this mission....
Successful or Not.

I just read the WIKI about the S-3 Viking. I am CONFUSED.
In the late 70's I did one carrier landing aboard a similar aircraft that had the same apparent external configuration but was internally configured for TWO Cockpit Crew + 5 Passengers (four facing aft - for less traumatic carrier...
Rocky,
Suffice it to say that the Santa-Scan-O-Meter is PEGGED.... but I will exercise my God-given right to disclosure and NOT state to which end of the scale the needle is pressing..

Short answer:
You CAN but it's potentially hazardous to your batteries' health.
While a USB Charger will be an almost insignificant LOAD on the one battery, folks have often used the 12 volt (half battery bank) to power their heavier load inducing equipment such as fire truck emergency lights...
Let's remember to do the math on this ship movement.
The reality of it is that the true load is not the weight of the cargo but the FRICTION in the bearings. Overcoming the initial inertia (from stationary to any speed above 0) is the hardest part of the job. Even stopping will eventually...
I was SO RELIEVED to see that the ship was being S T R E T C H E D instead of yet another BOB-JOB on Steel Soldiers' bandwidth.
On another note....
That HET is brute enough to haul boats bigger than Bubba's baby bass boat ! ! !
Great submission to the site.
Carry on.
Sorry that I'm a late arrival to this thread.
Thank you Warthog for mentioning the XM818 we just recently got from the Midland (Texas) County Sheriff's Office.
From the most recent post by the OP of this thread, it seems the Commissioners are NOT very anxious to actually liquidate this truck...
