M1009 fuel tank builds vacuum when driving

I guess you could do that. I just got new used ones when it did it. They'll build pressure on a low tank on a hot day, too. Could be you're getting pressure and not vacuum in the tank. No way to really know. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Repaint triangle window frames?

I just redid a couple for mine. Went full restoration. Bought new glass frames and a seal kit. Got the glass tinted then glued them in the new frames. Got new locks too. I bought it all from summit...it was a surprise to me that the prices were about the same everywhere but the shipping was very...

    Need help in New Mexico

Leaving it 24 volt is easier than changing it to 12. There's several good write ups on how to diagnose the alternators. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Question for every cucv owner

Do you have the truck or blazer. Blazer has no problem going 60 all day. Truck gets to maybe 65 depending on tire size. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Question for every cucv owner

Removing the governor would over fuel the engine and it would explode. The gm stock turbo setup fits fine but you lose an alternator and battery if I remember right. The hmmv turbo is a rear center mount so you'd have to cut the cab up to fit. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Question for every cucv owner

Not sure what fuel tuning you'd be doing but I doubt you'd notice any more power doing that. The only reason you would is if the air filter is completely blocked and the exhaust is rusted shut. These engines can't make more power without adding a turbo kit. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    MEP-803A —— Did I Score? I think so……

Dang I didn't think of throwing some fuses in the box too. I have several. I don't have any holders though. I used the same type fuel line and brass tees on mine too. My ocd brain had to use zip ties on them though. Some things I can't change! Those brass well nuts are nice. I used a coat hanger...

    M1009 tailgate latches

Do you have the rubber seal on the tailgate that keeps it tight? They wiggle a ton if you don't. I buy used tailgates whenever I can. Might be the way to go, take the parts out of it. Ebay has some. Really though of the gate is bouncing around new parts won't help. I have nos gm strikers if you...

    mep803a fuel pump not clicking

If you dig through that thread it does end up with the one you got. It is 5.5 to 9 psi at 35 gph. It is 24 volt too. At 62$ I think i'd look for a real airtex one.

    MEP-803A —— Did I Score? I think so……

That's really nice stuff to have!! Doesn't look like anything was marked up either. 2 things I noticed, now that I am on my laptop that I couldn't see with my phone is, the fuel filter has been changed so you shouldn't need a 6 foot pry bar to get it off. The main fuel pump isn't the square...

    mep803a fuel pump not clicking

You can put a dvom on the connections for the fuel pump and see if any power is getting there. The old hit it with a hammer and see if the regular ticking noise returns is a good way too. I've found many problems with a light tap on things in the past. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    MEP-803A —— Did I Score? I think so……

Glad it got home. Looks really nice! I know this would be last on the list probably but my fuel cap looked like that too. I put the entire assembly in my electrolysis tank for a day and it took all that rust out. Cleaned the filler neck up inside nice. I thought about bead blasting it but that...

Need Help Diagnosing Fuel Delivery Issue

Does that governor sleeve even move?? That is very rusted shut. It would make sense why it shuts off now.

Need Help Diagnosing Fuel Delivery Issue

The clear line shows bubbles and very nice to have the knowledge that it has air in the fuel or not. No guessing. You do need to crack every line a bit to get the air out. If you can get it running and have someone hold the throttle up some and crack each one quick it won't take long.
