    Yes, i already have the 4-speed transmission. I don't think the guy have the exhaust down pipe, but i can source that one. I was planning to do the 2" lift anyway. He will give me the wire harnes, the computer, engine with transmission, winch hydraulic pump, power steering pump, alternator...

    moving forward with updates, i spoke tooday to the friend of the friend and i am buying the freshly rebuilt turbo from him, complete with transmission. so i guess this is the route to go, any help or ideas on how you guys have done this swap and what is needed will be really appreciated

    no, not really. i was thinking about a rebuilt because everything in this engine sounds really tight compression wise and everything else is new. the rebuilt was going to be done by me with a friend that would not charge me for it or would charge me very little

    thanks, yes, i was looking at some of those i also came across. will start my search in the morning and will try to find out waht will be better for me. have to wait until saturday to talk to a friend of a friend that will take a turbo out. that will be the final point for dsicions

    ahhh, good information i was planning on lifting the body a bit more anyways. will try to educate myself into this. is it worth the upgrade? i see i will only gain probably 30 HP on this swap. have you done it?

    i see a lot of turbo's take out but Not NA, can i fit a turbo on in my truck?

    yeah but.... how do i know the history of a take out? what about if the block is also shot?

    any suggestion on a block? were to get one from a reputable palce? do they come naked or wih crank shaft and pistons ? first tie doing this swap.

    definetly i am more inclined to do an engine swap however, i was told by a reputable diesel shop (another friend) that the repair can be done by rectifing that cylinder and inserting a new cylinder sleeve in it

    so, now the question here. Repair the exisitng, buy rebuilt, buy a take out? can i install a turbo model in a non turbo truck? what is needed if i go this route?

    i have to check into it in the morning. the damage was so big that the valve flipped and the stem punctured and passed through the head. i was removing the injectors today and the piece fell from the hole

    Also a possibility, who knows. what i k ow is that i need a solution now. repair or new/rebuilt engine? my friend was suggesting to get a cummins in it but i really don't want to get into that

    yes, in your case it is right there, an Allen type bolt. now, it could be mine had a bolt lose somewhere or someone dropped it inside, remember i bought mine as a non runner. probably that was the problem all along and it was sitting in their yard for god knows how long. anything is possible...

    not too sure about the screw injestion but more the exhaust valve stuck instead of the intake valve.

    i have not found any screws as of yet, but i found the spring of the oil ring stuck to the top and side of piston. definetly the escape/exhaust valve was broken so it does not lead me to screw/bolt ingestion but more valve stuck due to time unused?????.... ingestion and valve stuck would be...
