Engine failure, rebuild, with turbo, jakes.

Which of these CPLs matches with M809 engines? I've read on this forum that 026 is the closest match but these charts also have a listing for 172 and 709 for the NHC-250

Do you know which tranny is on the new engine? If you don't have to worry about a pto for a winch maybe you could make that one fit?

That's a bummer about the engine going TU. Looks like luckily you have a shop to work in 😀. I've been reading a lot about getting 700-900 HP out of these 855 cummins mostly by lowering compression, retarding cam timing, and upping the fuel delivery. It would be fun for a few minutes until...

VIC-3 whistling noise with Engine rpm

I have that same sound in my M813's VIC-1; kinda sounds like the truck has a turbo. Would a filter simply wire inline with the positive cable for the 1780 amplifier?

How far into the engine do you plan to go?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Does a slower motor mean it needs to be greased or is the passenger side usually slower because of the longer air hose?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

His install looks very clean and well routed. I like it! Another location option would be the top rear of the cab: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/vic-1-intercom-panel-for-soft-tops.188122/

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I did, but it's the old kitchen in the basement and the wife was still at work so I was good to go!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

This same time last year I cracked my passenger side glass pane and I just got that one replaced finally. I had the glass shop put a "seamed edge" on the glass which means they smoothed all sharp edges & corners which i think helped a lot in preventing new cracks from forming. With the glass...

    Interesting Find

I had an 11.00-20 laying flat in the back of my truck to take to the tire shop and after a rainy afternoon the tire guy said there was about 3 gallons of water in it between the tube and tire.

Thank you @fuzzytoaster & thank you @Tracer ! Congrats on the win fuzzy - that is one unique truck. I've never seen anything quite like it and it looks brand new 😍

M813 battery cranking amps and wiring

Correct: I've got my VIC-1 intercom and my courtesy lights added to the 24V side and I've got the glow plugs and jake brake circuit added to the 12V side.

M813 battery cranking amps and wiring

My 813 is using (2) 12 volt 8D batteries wired together for 24V.

    M125-A1 Cargo Truck Cummins V8 300 Powered

Looks good! Sounds like it's time to send the old lady out for a second job to support your project in the fashion it deserves... (I got that advice and a wink in the eye from some old drag racers once upon a time...)

    M818 Turbo Addition

Lonnie, do you recall what part number of muffler you went with and did it fit in the factory half-circle mount?

Steel Soldiers MV of the month October 2020

My '81 M813A1 may appear stock at first glance but a closer look reveals that this sweet 5 ton is really the cat's minge! It may not have lockers or super singles, but I have designed several custom upgrades that add to the functionality of the truck while keeping a stock look to it. I've...

    Cab and Body Vibrations

I had my Cobra Jet balanced and is sweet. There's no shaking when it's shut off - it just immediately stops. Our 855s shake a lot when you shut them down. Almost feels violent. FYI: in the 60s & 70s amongst the big 3 the mopars were the furthest from being balanced (require the most...

    Cab and Body Vibrations

I've noticed this as well with mine. I wish these engines were balanced. Imagine how much weight that would take!
