What size socket to bar NHC-250 over?

I'm going to be going through the overhead adjustments during my jake brake install!

What size socket to bar NHC-250 over?

The nut on my accessory drive turned out to be 1 5/16". Luckily that is a socket I already own :)

Trick, functional jake brake grenade shifter

I finished soldering the diodes in the wires for the HI setting last night (front & rear head wires get diodes, middle head is just a plain wire) and covered them up with wrong size heat shrink but I'll let it slide this time. This morning I attached the 5 legged spider looking harness to the...

What size socket to bar NHC-250 over?

Thanks Wes. Are the crank and accessory nut usually the same size on an engine?

What size socket to bar NHC-250 over?

I can't fit a caliper in there to measure the nut on my M813 but I need to get a socket before all stores close down. Do you M809-ers bar the engine over at the crank or at the accessory drive?

Trick, functional jake brake grenade shifter

That terminal spray is a good idea especially for the clutch switch which is in the wheel well - thanks for the tip. The clearance with the hood will be interesting . Hopefully it all fits with no rubbing. I'm going to cover the actual jake head install in a new thread. This thread will...

Trick, functional jake brake grenade shifter

I planned it that way since on my Heater in a Can project had an 1 1/8" hole saw hole that came out at 1 1/4". I'll take luck any day!

    Long travel on shifter.

This is the closest part I can find of what I'm talking about.

    Long travel on shifter.

I noticed my M813 had a long throw - not as far as yours but it tightened up a bit when I put a different shifter in because the original shaped spring retainer thing was chipped and cracked. If I were to force my shifter to hit the dash it would crack this part open. The part is sandwiched...

Trick, functional jake brake grenade shifter

More progress! Baby steps, but still progress. I got the oil line relocated which was involved and was something I've been not wanting to do. A 9/16" holesaw wobbled it's way to a perfect 5/8" hole and the hard line under the dash was soft enough to bend by hand to it's new shape. I was able...

I think the Air Force wins the biggest truck award...

@MyothersanM1 thanks for posting up the article and those pics - very cool! It's too bad the rig was dismantled; I was starting to daydream about abandoned giant trucks in the desert that needed rescuing...

Trick, functional jake brake grenade shifter

The relay tucked up real nice between the heater duct hoses and the firewall. I removed a 1" knock out which is in the perfect place behind the rotary switch and just to the right of the jake heads where the wires will connect. It looks like the oil gauge supply line will have to move over to...

    5Ton Rear Axle Hop

You might find this video helpful. When I get to that point I will probably try his method along with other tricks I've read about on the forums:

Trick, functional jake brake grenade shifter

OK, now that my jake brakes have arrived I'm once again making forward progress on the wiring between the grenade and the brakes; particularly the relay that the grenade activates. I'm using a type 191 five prong 12 volt relay and wiring it to be ground triggered as shown in this diagram: The...

    Artisan's M916

Thanks for taking that extra picture - much appreciated! It sounds like the HT3B is a divided entry turbo and installing it on an engine that formerly had a single entry turbo without modifying the jake brakes is no bueno. Will Wagner has explained more about it in this post (among...

    Artisan's M916

Looking good Artisan! I like your attention to detail and the clean routing of the harness. For the curious, like myself, could you please post a close up picture of that Jake brake warning label on your rear valve cover? I'd like to know what it warns about.

    5 Ton lockers

I've seen the truetrac available for a Dana 70HD - a little bigger than a humvee but I haven't searched for anything bigger.

    5 Ton lockers

Someday I hope the ARB air locker group buy gets off the ground again with enough interest to start production.

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

It will be top-heavy so one has to be careful. What's nice about the floor jack aside from hydraulic advantage is that it can be lowered to get the center of gravity closer to the ground. The round loop on the top allows a chain fall or cherry picker to be used from above, but the hub would...

I think the Air Force wins the biggest truck award...

I saw some other pictures that showed it hauling a portable ICBM launcher.
