I have yet to see that vintage rig with a FF 14 bolt in a 4wd configuration, only the 2wd rigs get that. I concur, unless you see a 24v system or any other BO light switches stock, more than likely a clone. I'd still drive it :)

3.08 10 bolt should be no problem to find, it is finding one that doesn't have the grenade pin already removed... Consider this a great time to invest money elsewhere.

If the rims you have work, why not just go with that backspacing? There is no right answer, the higher backspacing will keep the steering geometry working correctly and minimize tire rub on the fenders but the less backspacing will push the tire out for track width and keep them away from...

I agree, something that old I wouldn't think twice about replacing it. Even if you fix the leak the IP is probably old and will cause other issues down the road. New filter, new IP, new glow plugs, new fuel lines...good for another 50k to 100k miles.

Sounds like linkage not adjusted correctly (not fully engaging 4HI) or the shift fork pads are worn. Undo the linkage and manually shift it into 4HI, then roadtest and see what happens.

Looking good! That is a mighty big plow for a 1 ton...looks like the ol' M1008 works it like a champ. I think a new Chev would spit it's plastic ball joints out while dragging it's frame trying to do that.

This probably wouldn't be my preferred method. I have seen batteries come out on the trail even with a factory tie down. An Optima will actually work after you run it over.

You are lying, the gauge reads fine. You just need to be able to follow the swinging needles during straight flight ;)

Search for a thread that I did only a few months ago, it has all the specifics. You do need to do some modifications as the CUCV is not a bolt in affair compared to the civy version.

Gauge is only accurate at two positions...full and empty. You know it is full because the gauge reads F and you just topped the tank off. Empty is E and you will note the absence of diesel clatter and nothing happens when you hit the skinny pedal.
