These racing "P51s" are no more an original WWII P51 than Jimmy Johnson's NASCAR is a Toyota. It is in name and appearance only. There is nothing old. These are purpose-built racing machines from the ground up. This was not the loss of a vintage aircraft.
Bradley and Stryker use a 25mm and a totally different storage arrangement. This is from an M-88, for .50 ammo boxes. There is a flashlight holder on the top as well. Mounts near the commander's hatch.
Looks like a great event. I see two vehicles there that I once owned. Neat turnout. Thanks for posting the photos and of posting photos of the folks there too, instead of just vehicles.
Last year was the first year for this event and it was great. This year, I know of many, many more that are coming, vendors and people. This is a premier event and well worth it.
The problem with a PVC replica is getting it to look decent and not like a PVC-cobbled POS. The one thing to remember about a deactivated real one is although $3500 is a lot of change, it will do nothing but go UP in value. I've been at this for 30 years and have seen nothing but great...
We used to do that all the time. Nobody cared. As for the video, the guy does some really cool stuff but the fake Russian accent is ridiculous. Really pitiful.

This was the 2011 National Convention for the MVPA. It is TOTALLY subject to the membership's participation. And while the public is welcomed, it is the MVPA convention. It was not advertised or promoted as anything else.
