Yes You Are 100% correct! The truck does have to be driven some between flushes to make sure that all the oil is being circulated into the system and not trapped somewhere in the transmission.
Thanks for the tip reminder on the funnel, have to write that down on my "stuff to pickup" list. If I...
Hi Rusty! Instead of just draining the fluid, which basically only takes about half of your trans fluid at a time. One type of the Transmission Flushing Machines, requires that you take apart a connection on one of your cooling lines, and you connect two hoses to that line, one for in and one...
That is what I have read many people saying as to the reason why they are changing the fluid to over. Every post and comment I've seen has all been stating good improvements, so thats why I decided to do the same.
Thanks for the personal experience review Steve! [thumbzup]
Thanks for the info, that gives me a better idea of on the transmission. And I'll remember the tips on the fuel filter too. Have to get a good strap wrench, as I don't think I have one at the moment, or at least one that works. I'll also take a look and clean the check valve, didn't know about...
Hi... Its me again.
Ok, I am planning on doing a full service tune up and maintenance work to the A3, once I get it here. I am purchasing two of all the filters, one to put on the truck and one to keep as a spare.
Since I have always been one to use the best filters for any vehicle I have...
Well I just had the first insurance company call me back with a quote:
1. What Year and Type of Deuce? M35A3
2. What kind of Policy? Quote for Full Coverage & Liability 3. Is it under a standard policy or an "antique car/truck" policy? Standard - Actual Use (not parade only etc)
4. What...
Well, so far I have either gotten "We don't insure that type of vehicle" or "...We can insure it, but only for use in parades or meets..." or they took all the info and just haven't gotten back to me, but maybe I'll here from those couple tomorrow.
I noticed that there seems to be a lot...
Exactly! Well Said ColdWarrior
Good info so far Everyone! Also some good tips on what kinds or "restrictions" or lack there of, that should be discussed with your insurance company before agreeing upon a policy. Something to keep in mind depending upon what you may want to use your deuce for...
Hi All! I had seen a couple posts scattered here and there about insurance. But I thought I would start a thread just about Insurance for the Deuce.
One thing this will do, is get everyone better informed. Who knows, you may be paying way to much $$$'s for your insurance, and someone may...
We just bought an A3, haven't even picked it up yet. But I've been trying to search and read all the maintenance threads concerning the A3.
After reading this thread, and seeing the prices for wheel bearings on the A3. Checking and Repacking the bearings is going to be one of the first things I...
New A3 Deuce Owner here. And after reading this thread  and all the stories, I got to ask some questions:
On the M35A3 Cat, if a run-away/engine over-speed condition occurs:
First: Can it be stopped if it is caused by the introduction of an external fuel source (i.e. oil from turbo...
Well... was hoping to get by for less than $3600 just for tires. But like you said, its cheaper than ICU or funeral.... and not worth the risk to me or anyone else. And even if nothing else happened, I don't want to break down on the side of the road someplace when it can be prevented.
Been...
Wow, that's a long way. Have to ask him about that. I do remember him mentioning that he had sold a truck that was taken to Alaska.
So maybe these tires will at least make it the 150 miles from his place back home... I would hate to have a blow out... especially a front tire!
I've begun doing...
Wow...
And here I thought I had at least read most of the "major" maintenance and "stuff to check first" threads. But I haven't read the first thing about the michelin tires being prone to blowout. I hope they're not in that date category, I have to drive it about 150 miles to get it...
(I might need to start this in a new thread...)
Ok, I've done some searching here on the forums, and I'm now considering putting in some things to make it "slightly harder" to steal, or at least to keep people from messing with the deuce.
I have read about the battery kill switches. But...
