Next time your son want to borrow the family military vehicle, remind him to fill the tank.... That should help him to remember what Dad went thru to get it going again.
Most all the nuts, bolts & screws on the military stuff is fine threaded. It's only a pain if you don't have access to replacements should you misplace the originals like rustystud did.
Now that you have the largest semi dolly on the block, you have to get an MK-48 to complete it. They were selling the rear ends of an MK-48 in this area several months ago, but it had the knuckle boom crane instead of the 5th wheel. They went cheap as no one had a way to move them apparently...
Welcome from North Florida. There are several guys in your area of Ocala that are members here that can be quite helpful if you need it! Hochimin is one...
Naahh, gator hunting can be done behind the house without the Deuce, if the river would get some water in it. I was just checking out the engine when it dawned on me that I had 5 feet of 1" radiator hose that was bought for the slobber tube replacement (but was too small) & it fit both the...
Welcome from Florida & to the Green Iron Addiction, this is your warning that the addiction is not curable. Most of us do not want it cured, just increased in how much stuff we can get & keep it running... ;-)
I installed two 12VDC power ports in the existing dash holes for charging the cell phone & running the camera. Then installed a 1" hose from the air compressor intake to the air filter housing to make fording a reality if needed.
Get as close to 60Hz under a full load as possible. Run 120 vac on a single circuit or 240 vac on a double breaker circuit when needed. You are talking about single phase power, right. Three phase power is completely different. The controls give you the ability to match your power output to your...
I go thru my PMs on the oil & fuel filter changes once a year, the wheel bearings as needed as time dictates. I don't drive that much, greasing all the grease fittings is a quarterly deal. Your mileage may vary. Now doing pretrip PM's, every time as I don't want to do work on the side of the...
Your tank, from your description, sounds clean. The in tank pump is new, so that problem is out; check your filter closest to the firewall for more trash & goop. If it is clean & the water seperator are clean, the second one should be clean also. Usually it takes time to figure out the bugs &...
The Deuce I own had horribly filthy filters when I bought it last year like yours. The water seperator was also bypassed from the military by leaving out the brass dome fitting, but it ran amazingly well for being so dirty. After a major cleaning session for several hours, the red varnish (an...
The material is bakelite, which as you say is very brittle. Since it is an emergency piece of equipment, replacing it is prudent for continued operation. Having it break again during all the vibration that these units produce, during a storm or other time frame when it is needed, would not make...
My former Boss told me he was taking everything with him when he passed, so he stored it all in the attics of his buildings to pick up on the way out. His wife told me he should have put it in the basement. Truth be told, his son in law sold all of it after (the boss) he & his wife were killed...
I have dealt with the GL rep you posted & received positive results on the auctions. Something is very wrong with what they are doing to your auction for unknown reasons, other than they are circling the wagons against your wins. Unfortunately, I have nothing more to add to help with your bad...
