I have a MEP-701A genset I got from a fellow member last summer. The battery finally quit cranking it last weekend, so I placed an order with NAPA for a new one. They just called & said it was in so I can go pick it up! When I inquired about the final price................I almost dropped the...
I had the problem of the brass screen dissolving into the diesel fuel/conditioner mix some how after several years of zero problems. I bought some very fine mesh brass screen & resoldered it to the copper insert & replaced it into the tank. The actual tank cap was in no way affected, just the...
Nice score, but I can't help you since I live even further South from the pickup point. These are designed to be towed by a LMTV right, how well can a Deuce tow one as far as brakes & being fairly level is concerned? Inquiring minds want to know.
Wouldn't the 15 minute rule help them gather more bids, shortening the time only cuts out the bidders who aren't sitting @ a computer in the last minutes of the live auction!
I have two of those units, in the same shape yours are. They are still stored as picked up, unused till the day I have time to pull them out of storage & use them. As you have read, do not starve the unit on water when you get it running, it needs lots of water to run properly instead of...
Welcome to the Green Iron Addiction Club, you made a long trip home without Murphy noticing you were gone! Congratulations on getting a good looking truck by the pictures you posted. You will have to replace the boot, hopefully sooner than later if you drive anywhere other than paved roads...
I totally missed that trailer when it came up for auction last year. It looks to be brand new & unused, but completely stripped of all the contents before being turned into DLA for auction! Thanks for posting that picture & link!
Its a Military truck with a turbo, let it run while you fill the tank or just add fuel; it is very safe...but noisy! Look @ the people who yak on their phones while filling a gasoline fueled vehicle & the pumps have a sign as not to use your cell phone while pumping gas. Go figure~
You want to...
Borrow a truck from a friend or just get him to take you, loads cheaper than the rates you got quoted. My motto is if I can't go get it anymore, I don't bid on it! Shipping always kills the deals for me!
I towed two M105a2's several weeks ago about 110 miles to home, one with a M35a2c & the other with a Toyota Tacoma 4wd truck. There were no problems with either the trailers or either truck. The Deuce, on the other hand, would be a very long drive each way in your situation!
Hey, I pulled on that handle a few times to see if the engine was free; it's not that hard to pull it to start it. No, it never started due to sitting for a.......while
!
It was sold as hasn't run in 25 years, so good luck with the ride. I would have bought it if he hadn't scrounged up the cash! First hog to the trough gets fed!
Spot on information. With GovPlanet, you not only need your paid invoice to do the pickup; you HAVE to have a release form from GovPlanet to secure your new stuff! No release, you go home empty handed!
