Still no notification of wins, but I have gotten several notifications of the invoice is ready to download, but there is nothing on the website to download. This is very strange from my experience, but might be one of those weird GL glitches that seems to happen. I'll post if anything shows up...
Did anybody win an auction yesterday from GL & not get the customary next morning notification in their email? This the first lack of notification I have ever had happen. I can't schedule a pickup without the paperwork that should have shown up today either...
Sometimes all the fun is in the bidding process. If you can preview a truck to your satisfaction, it is less scary $$$ wise. Just be prepared to deal with the hand that the auction results leaves you with; sometimes you win, sometimes you loose....
It took three deliveries to get all the parts to me for the hubs, but it was all worth it. Thanks Patracy for all the effort & time you put into this, I am no longer twirling a front pumpkin full of gears everytime I decide to go for a spin down the road.
Discussing active auctions is sort of frowned upon till after it is over. You won't know what you are in for until after the dust settles & you take possesion of it. Then you will how deep it is..............
I hope you checked it out & have pictures of things that might be removed during the wait. There is really no way to prevent loss of stuff while the vehicle is stored awaiting approval of the EUC.
While I am @ it, I got a notification from GovPlanet yesterday that the item I picked up Friday is...
As per prior notifications, everything was in place.....just waiting. I got no notifications that the EUC cleared, but I found it on their website the day after it cleared......the 27th of May & picked it up on the 29th.........just saying, you have to check your account on a very regular basis...
If you still have the insert filter with the screen in it, watch out after you can't see fuel in the bottom of it; this puts you @ about 50% of a tank & still have about 25 gallons of fuel left. A dip stick will give you a better idea, if you want to push it on how far you can go on that...
James, manual says a 1/4" open throttle from full stop & full choke if the unit is cold. After the engine warms up, turn off the choke & push the throttle to desired running speed. Your very close in your description of how to start it. It should be good to go from there. Yep, I still have the...
Picture of the trailer lifted from the auction:
Notice that the trailer in the foreground has no stake bed sides on it, the rear one does. They all should come with the stake bed sides & a wooden box of ratchet straps. All the strapping is in place from the manufacturer to ship. The missing...
Back when Saturn Surplus was selling surplus Teledyne a04-32 crate engines for cheap, I bought several for a genset I have. None were ever reinstalled into the genset, so they are still in the crates. The one thing I hated about the engine, although they worked very well, was the exhaust smell...
Too much wmo for the engine's liking. I put 15 gallons of heavily filtered wmo on top of 25 gallons of mixed diesel fuel back in March after the Military Truck show in central Florida. The water filter was changed & put all the correct parts in it from Floridianson so the filters were good. From...
The trip was not golden as the Deuce started that stuttering in the engine less than 20 miles from home on the way out & it was very cool for May, low 60's, which is rare. The sweet spot when running was @ 40 mph for the least stuttering when running, when going up the hills or heavy...
Re: Trailer Recovery from Jacksonville
I'm headed to North Jacksonville to pickup one of those air launched missile trailers with my Deuce that they are selling on GovPlanet. Should be interesting as I have never been there before & the GovPlanet folks wouldn't give me the contact info for the...
I seem to have lost a post on content somewhere this afternoon. One hub is installed & the other one tomorrow to do a pickup Friday in N Jacksonville if I can find that darn screw...............
Jay resent another USPS package with the missing parts in it, & it arrived in the same condition but with less damage than before. The gaskets are broken toward the inside of the bolt holes, does this matter???? The small bag with the allen head screws was hanging out with 11 of the screws in it...
I agree with the prior posters on the point driven engine, clean points, gapped correctly will make it run right. If it is a conversion ignition engine, that is a whole different story.
