What a great trip write up; sorry you had to endure the fuel thieves & the thunderstorm fuel run. Sometimes the fuel cans inside the cargo area are a pain, but a blessing when the gauge lies to you or you experience the fuel trolls theft. Glad that you did so well in the entire trip with Murphy...
You resurrected an old thread & the guy may not even be on the board anymore. That said, members probably want to know what happened to the deal in question. I hate to see the old trucks go to the scrappers, unless they have been involved in a major fire event.
Congratulations on your first Deuce. You say your wife bought it for you, well then, you are far ahead of the pack as most wives hate the trucks when we bring them home. Welcome aboard & enjoy putting all the parts back on that the FD removed & kept for you.
I called up C&C and talked with Jay about the matter. He is going to launch a claim against USPS for the lost/AWOL hub & bolt set. Looks like I won't be installing the hubs during the Memorial Day weekend Holiday.........:-(
Awesome, mine arrived today. The secretary said that the box looked destroyed & I need to come look @ it. I have a USPS box that is 75% destroyed, 1 ruined green gasket, 1 locking hub & a plastic bag with a bunch of small styrofoam peanuts in it. There is a sticker from the Postal Service that...
Thanks, the plant I work @ receives USPS @ a different location than UPS & Fed Ex delivers, so I am trying to figure where it is being delivered. As of now, no delivery; but the 12 day outage is still running............:-(
It looks even better in person, very nicely done. Now if you ask a woman, she would probably give it thumbs down 100% fail; which makes it a perfect mancave!!!!!!
My truck came out of DRMO completely repainted, so the bumper markings are not there. When I figure out what to put there, it will be stenciled there in black paint...........nothing vulgar or obsecene.
My Deuce came from WRAFB & they like to strip stuff like your VIN tag, your slobbertube & other unnessary stuff off the truck before sending it to DRMO. The slobber tube needed to be replaced since there was none & my cheapest route was McMAster-Carr for a blue silicone hose that was 3 feet...
Fill them with sand & have an up armored house that will be bullet proof. Thats a LOT of ammo cans; nobody in South Florida will be lacking for ammo cans. Drive safely!
Mine was updated 7 May 2015 & it was sent to them & acknowledged on 16 April 2015. I believe that there will be a few more weeks of waiting before the EUC shows up; this info follows another Floridian who is ahead of me with the same equipment awaiting EUC's.
