Just got back from picking up my tow bar which wasn't needed. He said the truck started right after putting in the new batts and had no problems on the trip home. New tires all the way around and only major problem is the hood pivot pin/bolt is loose and sticks out forward about 3".
If you haven't charged the batteries with a charger you need to do so, as running it with flat batteries can smoke test your Alt. If they won't charge then get new ones, a lot cheaper than buying am alternator.
Pretty sure they came stock with heater and defroster, knobs should be to the right on dash. Is your fresh air door open, far right pass foot well ?

Hand block sanding with fine grit paper and it will take a long while. Should be on the other side of the hood in the same place. These work good also rinse and repeat
