Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Graco Magnum X5 Airless Paint Sprayer is what I'm using right now but wish I stepped it up to the X7 as it's easier to work with 5 gallon buckets. Full strength, medium-low pressure (fine tuned over many paint jobs and adjusted per heat & humidity). I must say that due to surface area required...

    EUC Approved

..and imagine that. 2 EUCs cleared this morning despite the items being purchased a month apart but about 3-3.5 months ago. Maybe the key is to b*t%# and make noise or the EUCs are moving again if at least slowly.

    EUC Approved

tl;dr I see major delays on IP's/GP's side more so than the DLA or MSCS on these SF-97s. IP is the bottleneck for reasons unknown (but we can speculate). SF-97s are at least starting to move for now and maybe EUCs will start moving again too.. I hope. No movement yet on EUCs from my stuff...

Behr Paint Jobs- Show me your MV's

Finished the paint and body job on this one today. Behr "686 Tan". It cured to the touch in 2 hours (hot and fair humidity) but not enough to stand on. I'll leave it for 2 weeks before I do anything else to it but 30 days is accurate for a full cure.

    Door Markings Identification

I've had many FMTVs but this is the first I've had with this numbering on the door like this. It was covered up (poorly) with tan paint and flaked off with the power washer. I'm positive this unit was overseas due to gunring support & platform, IFF panel mounts, etc. Anyone have insight?

Various dates on an LMTV M-1079

What is the serial of your truck? It's possible it was part of the initial 3,000 trucks that were made that failed the corrosion test and were sent back for new galvanized cabs. Stewart & Stevenson had logistical issues making the trucks so I wouldn't be surprised if the truck chassis was made...

    LMTV Coolant Leak Diagnosis Suggestions

Not to sale pitch here but I have a close to new takeout A1 radiator from a M1078A1. Odometer showed 1800 miles on it. I too have been looking for a "NOS" radiator unit as a spare but haven't seen one. Figured I'd throw it out there to help.

    Deuce Priciing????

Your numbers on on point. Nicer deuces (air assist steering, gun ring, etc) are around the 10K-12K mark but most fall around the 4K-7500 range if they're raod worthy and clean title. Rough trucks or retired volunteer fire trucks are always $3K or less.

FMTV Allison 3070 Transmission - Code 4627 Overcurrent, A-High Solenoid Circuit

Got back to this truck today and dropped the control valve module. Had to drop the front shaft to get it out right despite the TM not saying to do so. Solenoid A is indeed reading low ohms so parts are on order. I took the opportunity to clean out the pan and replace the filters. It's nice to...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Dropped the control valve module today on a M1078. Fun stuff..

    Deuce-LMTV Size Comparison

Hemtts can (rarely) be found in the 20k range but you have to dig for them and be ever vigilant. One just sold out of GSA Oklahoma 2 weeks ago. Fair market price is between 35k-45k though. Nothing is coming from the feds anymore.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Jerry rigged a quadcab LMTV today the cheap way. Stripped the cabs of anything of value and off too the scrapper.

    MRAP Buffalo Trainer

Update: I've had some time in between projects to pull the "Buffalo" out and diagnose issues. She had no power to anything so I've been jumping the starter relay directly. Mechanically it's happy and sounds like a good running M939A2. I've managed to get 12v power to the cab internals and all...

    PTO Removal Question

Ramdough and I did a winch swap from an M1083 to a M1083A1 and it's much easier with the front shaft removed. Do youself a favor and buy a tigertool (or knockoff) and a big impact which makes the job incredibly easy. You'll need to unbolt and drop the cross member under the bellhousing too as it...

    Gun ring install

You should have 3 poles for the M49 or M66 setup: 2 behind the cab and one front right near the exhaust. If the poles are a correct set they should be easily identifiable as to which goes where based on adapter plate and bolt holes. The cab reinforcement kit is encouraged (someone had kits for...

    Current situation on SF97s?

I'll only relay what I've been directly told. The government is working at reduced capacity due to the 'Rona and their focus is on clearing any EUCs they can. SF-97s take a back seat. Anything more than that is speculation on my part.

SF-97 and titles are on hold. Direct from regional sales manager of GP and confirmed by operations assistant manager.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

How did you wire in the eyecon lights? I have that exact setup but the project has been set aside for sometime now and I need to finish it.

Behr Paint Code - Home Depot Update 2019

My store wont. I just made 4 gallons 383 green and 4 gallons 686 tan from stored account info. I tried to cross reference the lusterless deep forest that another SS member was asking about but it wouldn't find it.
