What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Bought a wrecked M1078A1R and parted it out so nothing but time and labor.

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

Quick updates. I replaced the air compressor with a newly rebuilt one and that unit ended up having an oil leak.. so i traded an internal leak for an external leak. It had a 1 year warranty so I swapped it out and am insanely quick at the process now. If only other M-series trucks were...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

KREDD has been a source of good info. He speaks highly of these units despite the military's abuse of them.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Thank you! (y) 14.00 Goodyear AT-2, nothing special. I tried to keep this unit stock since it wasn't abused too much.

Got this girl all dressed up for work. I need to finish the cab interior then off she goes!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I agree, go with the aftermarket unit. I scouted around for about 2 week looking for a good used or NOS unit and people are wanting $600 for one. Ugh..

    Detroit Diesel cooling system flush.

It's a total gamble, who knows until you try it. Make sure you remove the valve cover and check the injectors. If they're stuck the engine will run away on you.

    Detroit Diesel cooling system flush.

Less than that, maybe half since it's a non-running core. Someone on the flebay is selling a complete engine for $1250. There's also another person selling 6 engine/transmission/radiator sets for $2k each so there's your price points. If you don't plan on using it why not try to start it up and...

Lmtv Fire Dept conversion in Texas

I didn't want to assume you had a power disconnect box as shown in your picture. Only later model A1 trucks and some early ones that went through a rebuild got it and it's a great feature. You could tap into it for your high amp draw or use a slave adapter if you don't want to modify anything...

Lmtv Fire Dept conversion in Texas

I almost bought some property in Krum some years back so you're right m715mike. Thank you for the kind words. As for 12v tap for high amp draw it depends how high of a draw. If you're wanting max allowable power draw you can tap directly into the reverse polarity box behind the cab (behind the...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

Update on my unit (thanks for the bump Scrounger): The compressor was indeed at fault for putting oil in the air system. I was fortunate that a local compressor place could order a Haldex replacement compressor for a reasonable price ($370) with a 1 year warranty. It wasn't an exact replacement...

Sorry no info on these ATV's (I.D.'d: Polaris MRZR)

https://military.polaris.com/en-us/mrzr/ The reason I know is I won the jerry can holder off them from a GL sale many years ago and did the research.

    1952 studebaker please help

TM 9-2320-209-35 has all your technical answers. tl:dr - Old school "gasser" deuce and a half with the "Gold Comet" engine. They're uncommon but generally not as desirable due to age, fuel consumption, and hard to get parts for the engine but share a lot of parts with the more common M35A2...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

I've got all the TM's on hand though some seem a little thin.. but I'm used to seeing 1700 page PDFs for the FMTVs haha., My machine has a locking bar and it was ready for transportation. This was a very clean job by the unit before turn in. I just wish they kept better track of the bolts and...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

Got all fluids in her today and she runs smooth. All gauges nominal except fuel which is pegged out full (we can dream). I've got 2 minor leaks from dry seals on hoses: one on the main lift cylinder and one on the right lift cylinder base. Air pressure was a bit high at 135 psi and at the end of...

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

LO says.. 31 gallons of hydro. Fuel wise I haven't come across anything directly saying the capacity but it's big. It's weird the internet doesn't have this LO published as a .pdf yet. Just that janky page by page site that's there for the web clicks that I wont name.

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

All major parts yes. Some parts of the u-joint from the rear drive line they pulled must have fallen off between Arizona and Texas so those are on order. I did manage to get her to crank and start but without hydraulic fluid I shut it off quick to avoid running the pump dry.

M10A International Harvester Rough Terrain Forklift

She arrived today and rolled off the trailer with ease. Completely drained of all fluids..but looking at it glass half full that means half the work is done servicing it. Minor parts are on order and I'm going to pick up a barrel of coolant and 10w Monday. The engine has the RRAD sticker on it...
