I read somewhere on here that the seats are S-10 seats and not the same as the civvy versions. So presumably if you were to yank a set from a yard you would need the whole base.
I remember my '78 K-5 had rigid seats. Only the passenger side lifted for rear access, even then the whole seat moved...
Must be standard issue ....
I found one way to 'fix' it was to place a nut in the slot that the seat back stops against.
Unfortunately the nut falls out every time you pull the seat forward, and only supports one side of the seat. So you get a little bit of 'twst' feel to it.
Not to mention...
Wrapped my steering wheel with 550 paracord.
After searching for a 'leather-like' steering wheel wrap like the one I had on my old Blazer, and finding most places no longer make/carry wraps for full sized wheels, I reviewed some of the other members posts on thiers and went that route.
Local...
I would think so.
I can't find a diagram for the way the switch/motor work, so I don't know if it uses a resistor on the switch side to vary speed or if it's on the motor etc.
It could always be a bad ground issue to, or frayed wires in the column.
I found this description on some random...
That't the same stopper I just picked up yesterday at the hardware store.
With the exception of course that I picked up one size too large.
Tried all the auto parts places and no one has proper grommets anymore.
They all have the same 3 open 1/8" through grommet sizes.
Used to be a murry's...
I have a similar (if not same) issue.
I havn't had time to check it out yet.
Winter = dark when I leave for work, dark again by the time I get home.
Maybe this weekend I'll get a chance to check mine out (though my pickup's front brakes ceased, so that may tie me up).
Mine will work strong...
Interesting .... if not 'normal' then perhaps one of the terminals on the backside is bent or in some way contacting the housing where it shouldn't.
I really don't want to try mine. I recently shorted mine out while tinkering with the dash panel. (accidently bumped the dash with one of the...
Looks good.
One thing you might think about is fastening a peice of plastic, screen, or some such above your air filter.
Seeing the open filter like that with 'loose' insulation above it makes me want to formulate a sentence including the words "sag" and "clog".
Something rigid just in the...
Havn't messed with my vacuum pump yet, but I would imagine your issue should be a simple gasket replacement.
The oil is leaking from the base where it bolts to the block, right?
Yeah, he's correct.
The stock relay began it's life (was designed) as something else.
The same can be said for the new 'Doghead' relay you installed.
When it comes to electrical components what they were made for realy doesn't matter, what matters is the function/load/capacity they handle...
The toughest part of rebuilding these transmissions is pulling it out/putting it back in the vehicle.
Once it's on the bench anyone can do it.
The manual conversions are really just for 'drag strip' applications, and you're not really bypassing anything that's going to be an issue.
As for...
The exhaust is a tough one to do on a blazer body. Without looking terrible, that is.
Isn't there some way to set up a 'drain trap' style bend, or a 'check valve' type setup? Like a 'cage' on the end of the pipe with a ball and spring, granted you would be introducing some backpressure.
I've...
I always get a kick out of watching the younger ones try to operate an 'old school' hazzard switch, or a floor mounted high-beam, never mind a manual choke.
What's this knob do?
That's your floor vent.
Vent for what?
'Curb weight' is what the vehicle weighs with fluids etc. ready to be driven.
'Dry weight' is the vehicle weight without fuel and fluids.
'Gross vehicle weight rating' (GVWR) is the maximum combined total weight the vehicle and all cargo etc. can be safely.
So to figure how much of a load you...
You might want to check the driveshaft itself for straightness/ballance.
Sometimes changing an angle is just what's needed to amplify an existing issue you didn't notice before.
You can also try removing the drive shaft, rotate it 180, and re-install.
Did you remove the shaft when doing the...
I like that site.
You could even do something as simple as a fill plate bolted acrost the headlight dish with these lights in a center cut-out. Lots of possabilities.
My first thought as well.
They're not the sort of vehicle that is often 'financed' though I have seen some resto's going for 10k or so.
It looks like more of an
"hey, my buddies got X/Y/and Z"
"Oh man, that would be awesome for the show"
