I went to check out my MEP005 the day before hurricane Harvey. The engine wouldn't turn over. Checked batteries, they were good. Found that starter solenoid was engaging butter starter wasn't turning. I gave the started several wacks with a hammer, and it started just fine. Good thing...
I have a parts MEP002A and a couple of new injectors I bought that I ended up not using. I also have several MEP017A's, one of which I could probably start parting out. Not trying to get rich off of parts, just want make it worth my while to take parts off and ship. Let me know what you need...
Gringeltaub, that is great info. I will do it.
The rest of this posting is for the anal types, you practical guys will just get frustrated reading the rest.
I figured the drum shaft bearing on the worm gear side would get some oil when the shaft gear turned. Clutch and and clutch side shaft...
I posted what the lube order stated for all the rest of the anal guys out there like me that read these things. I used a 1/8" rod to measure the amount on the clutch side. It took 11.99678 fluid ounces of oil to get it to the 6 7/8" level. For those looking for a pint to fluid ounces...
The winch on an M35A2 I acquired kept braking the shear pin and the clutch arm wouldn't move. Found rust build up on worm gear keeping it from turning, which I should be able to resolve. Clutch parts were rusted to shaft. A can of PB Blaster over several days and slide hammer puller solved...
Okay, after a little more research I "believe" I found the source of my problem. The M35A2 parts manual calls for a 12255644. The M939 parts manual calls for a 12255644-1, the difference being the -1. I ordered and received the -1. I have now ordered the 12255644 without the -1. Unless I...
I bought a new parking brake cable for my M35A2, pn 12255644. This part number is also listed for some 5 ton trucks such as the M939. When I finally got the old cable out, I noticed that the new cable is about 1.5 ft longer. Everything I have looked at shows it should be the right cable. Can...
I got another M920 that had a leaking oil pressure gauge sending unit. In looking for a replacement, I ran across this post that I started several years ago. In looking back through the various replies to my post, I found that it had some good info as well as some very wrong info (some of...
I remember seeing several posts (I believe it was on this site) on what is required, as well as photos of the head o rings on the pump. You might want to do some more searching. TM 9-2910-226-34 is the TM for the pump itself. Where did you get the fuel shut off leaver O rings?
After posting this I realize I left out an important part. When you put the pump in a bucket, you need to run a grounding wire from the battery negative terminal to the pump (I usually attach it to the pump mounting plate screw holes.) All that being said, a quick check is to just disconnect...
Disconnect lines going to the pump. Pull pump, leaving wire to pump assembly connected. Put the pump in a bucket with about 3-4 inches of diesel. Turn on the ignition and you will quickly find if it is a pump problem. If pump is working, you will have diesel spraying everywhere. A problem I...
I can't seem to find the shim 7529294 that goes at the bottom of the M35A2 radiator between the radiator and the mount. Does anyone know what I can make one out of.
The MEP903 lug diagram makes this even more confusing. The way I read the diagram is that you can strap it for 120v OR 240v, but not both at the same time. It's back to what does the shelter need.
Yes, that should work. The trick is to make sure you get the right wires from the twist lock plug to the right lugs (L0,L1 etc) on the shelter. You might PM quickfarms to tell you which lugs on his generator provide which voltages. Normally in a single phase set up, you will have 240v across...
From what I could find in a quick search, the MEP903 output is 120/240 three (four if you count ground) wire single phase (I could not tell the labeling on the photos that were posted). That is the same type of power you have going to your house. There used to be some postings on the internet...
