At night, I could never make out the CAT 7155 transmission shifter gear numbers on my M920. They are lit up by four bulbs. I found that when the light switch was adjusted for maximum dash panel light brightness, the most I got out of the four shifter bulbs as a dim orange glow. The highest...
When taking the front axle outer seals out of my DUKW I found a washer/spacer behind it. I can't find anything about it in any of the manuals. They were on both sides. Someone said that they may have been a mod someone did because the axles were grooved where the seal had been riding on it...
I cleaned up and checked the ground wire on the flasher module on the firewall. No change. The problem ended up being the ground wire to the left headlight. The ground wire went in to the wire harness that goes up under the dash and I couldn't figure out where it went to ground. I made up...
Jeff; We double checked the wires to the headlight when we recently had the radiator fixed. As you stated, that would not explain the lights from both seeming to work correctly, depending on the switch position. I would buy that if the other lights were also acting weird. Since there is only...
I was talking about the dimmer switch. However, your question made me realize an error in the wording I used in the posting. When I say that one light is bright and the other is dimm, I should have said that one headlight has a "normal" brightness and the other has a dim orange glow (like not...
The headlights on my M52A1 are acting weird. In different switch positions the left or right headlight will be either bright or dim. Below is results with different switch positions.
Panel light switch in off positon;
Service- right headlight bright, left headlight dim
Stop and off...
I would sell the 12V lights and keep looking for 24V. They aren't very common, but do show up from time to time. I bought two at this years MVPA convention, but they were the last two the guy had. Try posting on wanted in SS clasified.
MEP016D exhaust
I found a solution. A 1 inch copper pipe elbow will fit snugly over the muffler exhaust port. I didn't even need to put a screw in it to keep it on.
;)
Ditto on what steelandcanvass told you, except for only MEP002/3s being mounted n them. There were a lot of different genset configurations that used this trailer. (PS, you are not the only one who has restored one. I just finished one up earlier this year.) When figuring the location to mount...
MEP016D exhaust
Okay, I have looked in the TM's and Yanmar oper. manuals and can not find anything on the exhaust for the MEP016D. There has got to be something that goes on the output of the muffler to keep the exhaust from blowing against the genset control box. Anyone have any info on...
Well it's been almost a year since I made this post on diesel in the engine oil. Replacing the IP seal and rebuilding the IP fixed the problem then. We had a power outage the day before yesterday and I ran the generator for about 3 hours. The only thing I noticed was that it was blowing a lot...
My MEP003A batteries aren't charging. Before I go through the TM troubleshooting I was wanting to make sure Fuse F1 was good, but I can't seem to find where it is located on the genset. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Jim
I can't seem to find what happened to the M936's that GL just sold in Miss., so I am looking at other alternatives. I found someone with a NOS valve, but I could buy another truck for what they are asking. The valve manufacturer says the spool rod was "not of a standard dimension" and would...
I sent an email to CSMDAVIS, but I haven't heard back. I started looking to see if the same control valve was used on the M816. I couldn't find the control valve in the -35P2, either in the parts section or the cross reference list, so I guess this one is unique to the M936.
The rear winch control valve spool shaft on my M936A2 is rusted and pitted beyond repair. Does anyone know if any of the M936s that were just auctioned off are being parted out? I am assuming they use the same control valve (11669330 CAT233), but I am not sure. The 936A2 valve is mounted on...
You are probably right on the cause of the wear problem. That's something I will need to check after fixing the flange. The dimensions I am looking for on the flange are the spacings it should have between it and the inner part of the flange when it is attahed (ie, spacing for the tracks)
