Well the Kansas Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma Steel Soldiers Rally June 21-23 @ D-Day Adventure park 2013 is 3 weeks away so time to start a swap/sale thread.
I'll be bringing a couple of aluminum boarding ladders and whatever 3/4 ton trailer you want to buy, 101A1, 101A2, 101A3...
Made a quick trip out to pick up a set of Glen's Summer Special USSC 9110 air seats with the blast plate bottom, which makes them super heavy. At $250 a pair for a left & right you can't beat the price and it makes driving a MV soooo much nicer. Thanks again Glen. BTW he has a M127 trailer...
Well my camera got flooded out Memorial day so excuse the picture but here is what the signs will look like to guide you into the rally , minus the kooky horizontal lines.
Wow went down early this morning to do breakfast had watched the weather, storms to the north and maybe a chance of light rain bands which would move through quickly. Yea right lying weather dude, started raining light at 8:15 then wammo 1" an hour for the next 2 got 2.7 by noon! Camera dead no...
We really don't set up till late Saturday/early Sunday morning but at 13:00 some of us went up by the memorial to get a group picture. My SS banner (thanks Doc) got hay wire on my ac unit then my camera wacked out! Had about 12 more MV's roll in later in the day. Got to get up early to get the...
Nope, Plenty of RV plug ins if you need one and camp sites are primitive so just come. This is still in the infant stage as a rally but should turn out to be a good one.
Don't know we will start a want/sell /trade thread first of June.
BTW during my 12+ hour drive back from the Findlay OH show yesterday I came up with a name for the rally, Kansas Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma . I know Oklahoma is the hosting state but OKMA, OMAK, OAKM just did not sound right.
Time behind the wheel round trip 25 hours
Cost of gas to do it $220
Spending time with part of your Steel Soldiers family priceless!
Got home 22:10 central time And we were all amazed to see Cash Money leave Doc's hands, and his fingers were still warm and alive! Our friend...
Heard a nasty rumor that DA Gimpy will not be there!
Truck and trailer loaded and serviced for the 12 hour drive out there, hopefully be there early evening Thursday. Just got to figure what cheeses and meats to bring for the snack trays.
Yep Jeff that is the yellow dingus that you want. Also found I had too many plastic fuel cans so will toss some in and some guidon/flag poles with the chrome spade top.
Great Jeff I will need a few made, also found a yellow dingus for you if still looking.
Was loading this morning and found a 1945 and 1951 jerry cans that hold fuel and will be bringing, also a couple of NOS sand Temper vestibules, 16x16 Red Cross fly with poles. Couple crates of pup tent poles...
Yep cover is packed. $400 on the AO42's, I am only taking one unless some body else chimes in. Also have decided to sell one of my 1st Ranger Bn scout bikes but can't make up my mind on a sand or black one.
And I have a couple of sets of the Ibis Tek tow bar ends
Update also dug out a...
I've got some NOS AO42 10hp gas motors in the crate if you want me to bring them. These are set up for generators but if you have an old 2cyl mule motor with sheet metal and plumbing it can be converted.
I just got back to the house and as usually it was great spending time with my southern cousins. It was my first time for this event and to me it really seemed well planned and well provisioned! For you guys that had to cut out early there was a ton of tasty BBQ left over from the dinner. Can't...
