    Found these in the oilpan

Looks like extruded material, like a bushing/bearing. Cut the filters apart and lay the media out flat to see if there is more stuff in there. If there isn't, it's most likely from a prior failure. That sample is VERY small. It's most likely leftovers.

    Diesel Mechanics advice please

800 series 5 tons are known fir having junk fuel lines that cause air in the fuel, maybe the 900 series have the same issue? I'd start by looking at the lines and switching valve/tee for the suction line.

    valve adustment signs and symptoms

Sounds like a smith corona typewriter, If they are out of adjustment too bad, it can smoke lots, not be so smooth at idle, just sounds kinda ratty. After a correct adjustment, you'll notice better power, better mileage...like THAT matters , better throttle response and it'll just sound better.

    Plug came out

You should leave coolant in it. It rusted through. Proper antifreeze concentration will stop whatever damage that is happening, but the rust pits will still be there.

    Turning up a NHC250

Depends on which pump you have. Injectors are easy, pull V/C, loosen adjuster, take the hold down out, remove injector and reverse the procedure for assembly. It's assembly that messes people up. Why you wana put injectors in it? Also, turning up the fuel won't do anything for top end, that...

    Who has but a 4BT in a cucv ?

If it was a Frito Lay or Granny Goose van, they will be at around a 5 degree tilt but it'll still fit. Lots more room too.

Canadian specs for the 250 cummins what a difference

Setting up a pump is an art. What one person does can vary to the next. You can do it and get close, without a pump stand, if you use all the correct springs, shims, throttle shaft for the pump, etc. The stand drives the pump, not the other way around when it's on the truck. There is easily 10...

    engine shut down problem

Welcome, please try to post as you would talk to someone in front of you. Is the in-tank pump running? Has it been sitting for an extended period of time? Possibly a filter issue.
