Great to hear about your M1008. I am sad to see it has been altered. It appears to be lifted and have non stock items added to it. I do not know the term for the connection that goes into the radiator from the transmission but have always used 3/8" steel line and formed it to fit. Recently I...
I am afraid to answer any of these questions pertaining to that wiring harness. One incorrect wire crossed and poof there goes the entire truck. WOW. I am sad to see this hacked up harness.
You are a genius. Yes the choke wire would not fit on mine so I attached it to the alternator. That is a Tach pick up wire for the diagnostic connector under the dash on the drivers side.
Suburban gate will NOT fit an M1009. And where are you getting complete gates for $80. US? I want a few dozen. It can cost upwards of $1K US to rebuild an M1009 gate with new GM parts. I have done a few. Now I have a few GM parts that are obsolete so I use knock off parts. Finding any old 73-91...
WOW I was just telling a member here 2 weeks ago I was working at the car crusher and a 1999 Military Tahoe was brought in from city municipal scrap. It had been wrecked and was very very rusty. Nothing on it looked good but the tailgate. It was another deal that it had to be scrapped no parts...
I have been heated and rained out of my barn project so I decided to go out and do some of my art work with automotive parts. I picked up this 1982 Chevrolet S10 tailgate at the crusher a few weeks back. Thought it would look good hanging on the barn and make a nice bat box. A place for brown...
Last night in the sweltering heat I figured I would subject myself to some mental and phycological abuse. I removed the instrument cluster cover and replaced the volt meter with another used one. I did however have no issues with the assembly or disassembly. It was a happy time. I also figured...
I sent you an Email in response to the PM you sent me. I have an unhacked dash harness with stock starter relay plug in place. Imagine that. I probably have a few if I looked hard enough. let me know what you think. Thank you.
Did you get your engine dirty?
I have had a muddy engine before in a CUCV. Never had a power steering problem. Just a couple hours with the pressure washer. Be Safe and Good Luck.
Did you check the power steering mounting bracket? It has a main bracket that cracks and the adjustment nut can wear thru the slide on the bracket. Also check and make sure the lower pivot adjustment bracket is tight and in place. That is known to be loose and or missing. The cracked worn power...
First check your power steering fluid. Next make sure the power steering bracket is completely in tact and not cracked or broken. Is the belt tight? I think it sounds like a fluid issue. Report back on your findings. Be Safe.
I was outside on the peak of my barn roof sanding and painting when I seen a Marmot emerge from the fuel filler of my M1010 lawn mower shed. No picture of the Marmot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmot But I did want to keep that varmint out of my shed. I cut a piece of Dura Plate and screwed...
