    Is this wheel unusable?

They were bought used in the 40s 2cycle NG some are Coopers IIRC they spend allot of time complying with emission standards, actually a small set of compressors by Texas Eastern standards (Now Enbridge) they have a 120,000 Hp station in Robstown TX most powerful in the northern hemisphere, they...

    Transmission won’t shift from 1st

If you are not getting a transmission light in the run position but not running ether the TCM is not getting its 12V switched power (most likely) or the trans LED is bad.

    NOOB: Strange "Whistling" Noise?

With the engine not running the voltage would be even lower than at idle, moving the evap RPM lower than the "sweet spot" that causes the harmonics, when you rev the engine up it moves the evap RPM above the "sweet spot" Does the evap have more than one speed???

    NOOB: Strange "Whistling" Noise?

You are lucky enough to hit that "sweet spot" under normal voltage conditions, you could try a resistor to slow the fan down just a little bit.

    NOOB: Strange "Whistling" Noise?

Normally the 200A uses three belts, I have a modified 200A (conversion) mount,, IIRC the mount moves the alt back just enough to use three belts on the alt and only one on the PS pump (the three alt belts also go around the PS pump) that leaves the fifth groove open on the crank pulley for the...

    NOOB: Strange "Whistling" Noise?

SORRY!! I was referring to the OP, he was the one that said it only happened with the AC on and at idle, I will be willing to bet if he puts a voltmeter on the truck and watches the sound (caused by the harmonics of the fan blades turning at a particular speed) it is directly affected by the...

    Transmission won’t shift from 1st

Here is the troubleshooting guide, I am not sure how having the PCS TCM affects the troubleshooting if at all.

    Transmission won’t shift from 1st

WELCOME to the forum!!! You have a PCS TCM, I am curious how they work, I have a PCS TCM on my 6L80 in the Detroit (M998) Not sure what that part is, hopefully someone will jump in here, BTW your trans is in 2nd gear, called limp mode.

    NOOB: Strange "Whistling" Noise?

OK, seeing as you have a 60A alternator it just might be the voltage is sagging at idle and causing the evap motor to get to a speed that causes it to make that noise, that would explain why it only happens at or near idle, maybe time for an alternator upgrade!

    NOOB: Strange "Whistling" Noise?

If it is one would think it would change whilst turning the steering wheel back and forth, something to try, although the AC having to be on seems to rule out everything but an AC issue, but.....

new purchase, 1st time owner, tons of questions

I was just looking at a group 31, that might be a little tall, but have not tried it myself.

new purchase, 1st time owner, tons of questions

I am a little curios, they did not produce a M998 in 2004, AFAIK all M998s that were rebuilt were rebuilt as 1097s Some pictures would be nice.

new purchase, 1st time owner, tons of questions

First things first. Did you buy it from GP or an individual? If you bought it at auction there is a ton of time and money you need to spend before adding the accessories like the $1000 spare tire mount I suspect you bought it from an individual as I have not seen too many M998s at auction...

Welcome to the forum!! Unfortunately HMMWV and cheap do not coexist together

    Alternator pulley help please.

I have not ever tackled that one, I am sure someone has though.

    Alternator pulley help please.

Is it possible the overrunning clutch is bad? and not the alt bearing?
  17. Mogman

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I would think all that heat from the exhaust would dry it out rather quickly....
  18. Mogman

    Alternator pulley help please.

IF the front bearing has gone out you will have to pull the alt to take it apart, That alt has an overrunning clutch on the front, they tend to have a little play and are noisy by nature.

    HMMWV Question....

As others have said they are vent lines

    L5P in a REV truck?

You can actually convert a 5 speed to a 6 speed simply by changing the valve body and TCM (about $2500) other than that the rotating mass is the same.
