Test each battery with a Multi-meter after its disconnected from the circuit. If the batteries are dead, charge em and retry starting. If she doesn't turn over then there you go.
I have to agree with "G" here on a practical stand point. If you have not driven a deuce yet I highly suggest you wait and come scope out the Texas MV rally in November in College Station. You can get a better feel and understanding of the beasts and make the right move before cutting into one...
He11 of a story. Glad it didn't get much worse as I understand your situation. I'd have done everything in my power to stop the threat too. Was the parking break engaged? I know it wont hold most trucks but I've seen a few where they are more than tight enough to hold the truck.
