New guy - First post - Just picked up my M101A1!

Congrats and welcome aboard. They are very useful trailers for sure. If you keep everything removable, they are excellent at hauling just about anything.

    HMMWV impounded

This usually occurs when a unit or vehicle has been reported stolen and either self recovered or towed as abandoned and the towing/impound folks forget to run the VIN. On the civilian side, a police involved recovery has quite a few checks and balances to make sure the car is removed from NCIC.

My new to me M756A2 NA

1969 was the year most of them showed up. The one I had was complete except bedsides but was rusted beyond compare. The bed still lives on. It's on a knuckleboom deuce owned by patracy.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

There are many of the fabricated steel covers that offer a fill port. Nice option on a sturdy cover.

Official '15 Ga. Rally Info thread

None have been started yet. If there is enough interest in any convoys on this thread, SWB or Clinto will start a convoy thread. Excellent convoys in the past have diminished in size since many folks travel early and at different times and speeds.

    TV Bracket for 700R4 Transmission

To get the bracket you don't need the throttle cable. Apparently they are sought out as well, I wasn't aware. I normally cut the TV cable between the back of the bracket and the firewall with side cutters. The linkage can be slid forward and taken off the slotted stud on the IP linkage then 2...

    TV Bracket for 700R4 Transmission

There are pics in this thread. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?72264-Junkyard-Bounty&highlight=bounty Last I heard the little rod piece was available but the big bracket was not. I do not have my civi parts book here at work for part numbers. Good luck! I've had good luck getting...

    My M1009, what to do...

I think I would do a cost/benefit analysis of the project. The rust has established a good foothold and will be all but impossible to arrest. Considering that you are working on a truck with a limited structural lifespan, I would reconsider adding a long list of mods unless you have no problem...
