Mil vehicles on display are waved through to the field. Idle speed only. Depends on how short the time. Talk to the gate people. Stay a long time. Steve

1942 WWII MarkVI Bomb Hoist I'll have this available, all cleaned up. Very nice piece of machinery. Even more rare are the 2 scanned factory line drawings from 1941 that come with it along with some photos of them being used to load The Black Cats. Also bumping my list with some edits: M103...

It would be neat if the guys had badges with their avatars so we'd know each other. I've talked to at least 10 guys in the past couple of years and didn't know who they were until later. I usually post mine with my phone in the stall where I am most often. Steve

"...Is it ok to bring a dog to the show a friend wants to know..." Timely question, first I'm hearing of this, and an answer not to my liking. This is an exact quote that was just posted to the MTA list for club members:"FYI, To ALL , PLEASE READ FAIR RULES !! SORRY NO DOGS !!! NO PET POLICY...

The holy grail known as the M101 canvas cover

I'm taking 'canvas' literally, so try http://www.beachwoodcanvas.com/ They do a lot of WWII vehicles in a light color that is closer tan than green. Not cheap but good color. I'd also call Dave at WeeBeeWebbing. http://www.odcloth.com/products.html. This page shows a few with the color I'm...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Take a minute and pull the boot from the switch to make sure there's no Dot5 or oil that's worked its way in. It can wreak havoc if it shorts. Ask me how I know. Steve

    Help with Paint and Markings

There are a couple of threads explaining how to lightly sand down the front bumper - L/R, rear bumperettes, and hood to see if you can find any original numbers there. There are also some very nice original style restos you can see if you do Google for M37 and use images. That will tell you...

    Portable Bomb Hoist, MK-VI

Mine just came today. Yeah, I know it's an old thread, but new info livens them up and keeps clutter to a minimum. If it's still a mystery: Keep some tension on the cable going out. On the inside of the drum, on the side of the free-ratcheting crank, under the cable (hopefully) is a...

    Durability question

I'm wondering if this solves the problem. From http://www.ppgpro.com/industrial/maintenance/ "...For heavier duty or large project work, PPG recommends the Amercoat® line of products. Amercoat features heavy-duty surface tolerant epoxies (Amerlock®), inorganic zincs...

Just a couple weeks out of GL and the M116 Urchin Trailer leaving the USS Ling for work at the Bendix Diner on Route 17. The quickie camo job to cover the rust is best appreciated at 50 mph. At that spot, the orange triangle is an absolute must, esp. at night. Steve
