Lucky I think : Glad for sure M1008A1

Sounds like the few things that were wrong were not too big deal except for the driveshaft. Someone must have shuffled it around with a forklift at the yard. Were the seats and dashboard in bad shape?

    Providing Towing in AZ

Can you do recoveries from a military base in AZ and temp storage at your lot with someone else's long haul removal later?

    Winch and Bumper Project

I like the "Frenched" roller fairlead. Are you going with a military style chain lead on the end of the cable or make everything so it tucks up behind the bumper face when traveling?

    Fording Project

I noticed that you rerouted the slobber tube from in front of the spring shackle to behind it. I presume to take the kink out of it. Looks like you ended up moving the kink farther up the tube though. Are you working on a solution or just leave it as good enough? I was thinking a 45 into the...

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

Thanks Special T. I was noticing the difference in pilots(cap nuts with pilots) and the reference for steel inners and aluminum outers. I suppose that is why the pilots are longer due to the thicker aluminum rims. I would imagine that is also the difference in longer studs shown. for steel...

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

Thats what I was thinking too. In my case I was going to demount the 8 rears anyway to convert to G177's. While I was in there I was going to go through the brakes / hubs as well. Probably not the case for everyone but I would imagine a fair number of people would go the extra distance if...

Upgraded deuce's tires to Goodyear G177 11.00R20s (dualed)

It might take a bit more research and measurement but, what if you replaced the studs with longer ones instead? I see several listed in the referenced Lawson site that might be candidates. assuming it was not too much additional work R & R ing the studs.

    OKC GL Alert

I think ,like others, that sometimes you are not sure what to expect as to what the situation is with dunnage when you pickup. However, just last week I made a pickup and I had an A+++ experience from the front office people to the forklift operators. From my experience, some lots are rather...

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

I had a similar problem with oil out the exhaust. I would start it and idle it frequently but never really drove it hard. This last year I moved and she came with me towing a M146 as well. No oil out the exhaust. Lots more work to be done but I need to get my barn built. Great to see you...

    winch PTO gear ratio ?

I seem to remember something about with the truck idling in 1st gear, 6 wheel drive, winch pto engaged and on 1st layer the truck would not overdrive the winch. In other words, on dry land under normal traction, the winch would reel in about the same speed as the truck would move forward? Am I...

Howdy and welcome from Colorado. Take one thing at a time is good advice. Looking at the whole picture can be overwhelming. Once you get past the heavy and cumbersome part, it is rather simple. Don't set hard and fast time lines for each issue. Just go until you get tired/frustrated or run...
