It sounds like the "wear and tear" points show a lot more wear than the mileage shows. I'd ignore the mileage and go by whether the rest of the truck is worth the asking price.

Before you file a claim decide whether its enough for you to give up your trailer over. And as others have said, do NOT accept the trailer if you intend to file a claim. Most of the time when you file a claim, you don't get reimbursed for the item(s) missing, they just void the sale and refund...
Chances are it never "rolled over" while the military had it, they retire most vehicles long before that. If they were used, they got abused and it would show; if it wasn't used much, it wouldn't have rolled over. So either it did after it got into civilian hands, or it actually has low miles...
His car, his truck, I guess he can do what he wants with them. But like some of the others, I would never have crushed a rare antique vehicle, or taken the chance of damaging the Deuce. As for what impression it gives others- I really don't care. The people who have a problem with various things...
I tried adjusting the droop screw today, with no change, I still can't get more than 2psi pressure. I guess I'm going to try changing the turbo with a C turbo.

Since it was public knowledge, it was $25k on ebay IRC. Considering the time and effort, and numerous parts involved, I'd say it was a very good price. They worked separate deal though...I'll let them chime in if they want to make their deal public.

If I'm reading this correctly, he can't "just stick to the correct year" because he doesn't know what year that is. He replaced the door, and doesn't know what year the door is. He needs the correct parts for the door.
I tried searching the web and can't find the info, so I'm not helping. Those...
I put the 4bt in my Dodge Durango and have loved it for 2 1/2 years. We were getting 30 mpg until the ULSD got here, then it dropped to 27-28. Lots of fab work, especially for this swap...had to make a custom oil pan and brackets for the front diff, which is bolted to the engine on these...
You could always get dressed up and ride in one of our vehicles :driver: And if you like them it wouldn't be hard to con me into letting you drive the Deuce.

If you were comparing the same materials for both welders, such as what is needed to weld sheet metal, a 220 welder will draw half the current of a 110. The weld will be the same, its just easier on the machine. The difference is, you have the option of welding much heavier materials with the...
I've used flux and gas quite a bit. If its a thicker material, you can get a good weld that just needs chipping and mild cleanup much like stick welding. But it doesn't work well on thinner metals because its a thicker wire, and burns hotter. You end up burning through a lot with it. Its really...
I wish I had seen the earlier posts...I would have volunteered for a road trip if he could have used extra manpower/wrenching knowledge. Hopefully he's O.K.

Well so much for getting my work finished up today...I couldn't get the kid going until noon, then we barely got the trans out (with him whining the whole time that he was hot & hungry), then he stopped at 4:30 so he could go swimming. If I wasn't broke and needing the cash I would have told him...
Never did it in a Deuce, but lots of deep water running in an early Toyota pickup and a Suzuki Samurai. I set up both with snorkels for the intakes, and spent lots of time running vent tubes for the axles, trans & t-case. The most time was spent waterproofing every electrical connection on the...
I'm not an expert, I'm self-taught, but learned a lot in the past 20 years. Now I do quite well, and have built suspensions, modified and built custom frames, roll cages, trailer hitches, and a bit of body work. You CAN lean yourself, but it will take a lot of trial and error and patience. Get...
Real easy, if you use an older divorced 205. Just 1 custom driveshaft in between. That is how I was going to do my Dodge Cummins Ram that i wanted to put a 3053a into. I even bought the Spicer and a Ford version 205 (newer Ram has front diff on driver's side). You can use an older International...
I just converted a '97 Dodge Ram 1500 from auto to manual for a local guy, and the entire swap cost him a hair over $1000 including a part's truck and my labor. It took 3 days, mostly because we had to wait overnight for parts twice.
You mention mileage. if you are really hoping for a mileage...
