DO NOT DO THAT!
I work in podiatry...aka foot medicine.
Soak it in cool water with normal table salt. Epsom salt will cause it to dry out to much and can cause damage to the skin. Warm water will cause it to swell and hurt because it increases blood flow to the site. The warm water also...
For those looking for 20 mm ammo cans to make a center console for there M1009, or just want them to hold stuff, I found a decent deal.
Armygear.net is having a special, 2 20mm ammo cans for $24. The killer is the shipping though so its not really worth it to buy just one pack.
If you...
I got a M1009 for a little over $1500 and it runs great. Some one installed the glow plug controller card upside down. Flipped it around and it started right up.
There are some great looking M1009s on GL right now. And some have pictures of them running.
I bought this guy
Miller - MIG Welding - Millermatic® 211 Auto-Set? with MVP?
http://www.millerwelds.com/pdf/spec_sheets/DC12-54.pdf
It can switch between 230 and 120 and will weld up to 3/8 inch thick. On some of the welding forums some have reported doing 1/2 if you go slow.
I priced out...
Ok I need some help figuring out what floor panel pieces I need to purchase and from whom. I spent today wire wheeling all the rust spots and then cleaned the floor and used rustoleom stop rust primer to keep it from getting any worse. Thank you rubber mat for making my life just grand!
On...
Do you know what page of there catalog it was on? All I see is the entire assembly, but all I need is the orange part.
Also does any one know what gage of sheet metal I should use to patch the floor? 14 or 16?
The driver side has an area along the running boards that it is rusted through. Behind the driver seat area are a few spots rusted through but they can be cut out and patched up also.
Areas where the rust is not completely through will be wire wheeled, bonded, and then covered with a rust...
Well I worked on my M1009 for over 8 hours today in the hot Texas sun.
Got my lights working, some one installed a melted looking fuse.
I am starting to suspect someone melted it with a lighter and then inserted it on purpose, and put my glow plug controller card in backwards to give the...
I noticed my M1009 has a lighter colored CARC camo job. At first I thought it was really faded but these pics from the factory show a M1009 with the exact same faded look as mine has.
Where these an early run before they changed some thing?
I am going to clean the inside of my M1009 out this weekend. It is full of sand, and spilled soda.
I have 5 gallons of that purple power cleaning stuff.
Do you think this will work well?
Also has any one restored the plastic parts in the interior?
I found this really neat article on it...
Yea I tried that, it was getting dark out so I am going to have to tackle the no lights issue tomorrow.
My hubs were locked in also. I unlocked them before taking it for a test drive.
Well my M1009 arrived today. After waiting over 100 days for my EUC to clear it is a welcome site!
When the transport company picked it up they called and told me the truck would not start but the engine does turn.
So much for the “starts and runs” description from Government...
Got it running!
Some one installed the glow plug card in up side down.
It started right away!
I was just coming in to post this and noticed akonitony had the same idea.
Got the truck.
On the hood some one wrote "Won't Start" on the hood...so much for the "starts and runs" description by GL.
I tried to start it a few times. When I turn the key I see no wait light coming on at all and here no buzzer.
All the other lights that should come on do though.
The...
