According to the TMs I should do the following:
Bleed the air out of the system using the bleeder valve.
If that doesn't work check and drain fuel filter of water.
I am going to try following the TMs first before I go checking the glow plugs and other items.
BTW would adding a can of...
"Starts and Runs" M1009 not running...
Got a call from the company delivering my M1009. He says they tried to get it going at the GL lot but it just turns but wont start.
It was listed as "starts and runs" but we all know how those descriptions go.
It is being delivered this afternoon...
I found this on ebay and just ordered one. I was planning on putting some basic 3.5 inch speakers under my M1009s dash and then setting up a stereo unit to listen to my MP3 player. All the modern head units had to many extra features and are kind of large to install which would require mods to...
On the CUCV FAQ this info was given as applied to the CUCV series in regards to the VIN.
Mine has an E in this location according to Government Liquidation. Every other one I have seen on gov liq. has an F. According to GMs 1984 VIN decoder E is the Linden plant in NJ.
Do you think GL made...
You know people pay money for xboxs with those red rings.
My brother does this, he buys em $20-$60, fixes them with a heat sink kit, then sells them for around $150.
I have a chance to purchase a Sincgars 1439 radio for about $500.
It powers on and completes the self test but they are unsure if it transmits or receives since they don't have the antenna or hand set.
Since it completes the self test does that mean it works or no?
Is $500 a good deal?

I had it back to him in less then a week.
He told me other people borrowed stuff from him in the past online and never returned it so he stopped lending them out, but saw my...
Sigh...looks like I am going to become a member of the 100 day + EUC club. I am at 99 days today since it was sent to battle creek.
Several phone calls and emails later and still no results....lol
So much for rebuilding my CUCV as a summer project. Officially my summer ends next week.
Funny...
Well I tried to get some answers from a worker at Battlecreek...at least they are responding. It does seem the delays were caused by the demil snafu a few months ago.
Answer I received
I have a chance to get a HF tow bar with a capacity of 5,000 lbs for about $70.
I think I have seen people on here do recoveries of a M1009 with these. How do they hold since the M1009 exceeds the 5,000 lb capacity?
The really cool thing about this company is if you call you can request what casings you want. You may have to wait a bit longer but they will eventually get them out to you.
From what I under stand they match them in pairs and try to get you a matched set.
