Do you have the pump back out? Not sure. I never had one leak. A leak can be hard to find. It may just be pooling at that low area and coming from higher up. Hard to tell from afar. Good Luck. Remain Calm.
I agree with the previous poster. If it shifts fine and you have no negative problems keep on going. What is the concern? It will fluctuate it is on a distributor drive with a diaphragm. Finding new ones is getting hard. Are you having issues? If you dig deep enough you will find more...
Glad to hear that you have the vehicle up and running. I agree with the post. Always someone out there complaining that their ice cream was too cold. But in the long run when the whole story comes to the surface the installer also played a part in the fail of the service. Like you said ordering...
Make sure you find the source of the leak. It could be the pressure switch. That can be removed if need be. It only sends a signal to the cannon connector under the dash for diagnostic connection. The pressure switch can be bought for less than $40 and you can JB weld the entire cavity shut in...
Takes a (S--T) is a foul word. I am not offended but it will bring heat on you. I am the helper not the villain. I think the CUCV is a great vehicle. Many I purchased and sold were all stock and many I bought cheap were hacked up and in need of a lot of major repairs. Mostly hacked and cut by...
I have a Honda that has a hard start condition. It starts if I push start it and pop it in second. New battery and starter. That is what I was told. I said bring it over. This is what I found. Nice connection. Hose clamp with wore ties. You can't make this up. Fixed in 15 minutes with a cable...
Define melts a plug in the head. Are you talking a burnt swelled glow plug? No matter what you do the possibility of swelling a glow plug can and will happen from time to time. It is the nature of the beast. I have ran stock as OEM as possible systems for over 25 years. I had glow plugs swell. I...
Had the same problem with my M1009 when I did the convertion. The problem is the front fender side markers. The way the connectors for those markers is setup is that it has a 12v wire for the turn signal on one lead and a 6v park light source on the other lead.

The LED bulbs do not create enough resistance to activate the flasher cycle. Similar to when a bulb is out and the indicator just refuses to flash. I encounter this many times up fitting new truck chassis. We add new flashers if possible or place a resistor in line up stream from the light. Most...
Really no one has any opinions on the shock absorbers? I was thinking about this and think maybe the steel sleeve is rusted fast to the mount from the original shocks and someone just removed the steel sleeve from the new shocks and pressed them in place. I also think that the mounts are a large...
I was thinking the door opening should be completed first and get the rocker and doorway opening fitted properly before going at the floor pan. In the end with a strong squared and properly aligned A and B pillar the rocker would need to be in place and door aligned before working from the...
A local body shop called and ask me to stop by today . They said they had an Army truck I sold years ago and wanted to know if I had any parts they needed. I stopped in and I knew the truck as soon as I seen it. It was a job I walked away from last year. I didn't want to get involved. They...
Try as I may I could not get the spare tire carrier back up in place. The age limit should be posted for no one over 50 to tackle it. I read that danger to personnel injury or death. I am a believer. I used the Sawzall and eliminated that big PITA set up. I had in the past installed the winch...
That freeze plug/expansion plug hole is the center one on the drivers side. Just brave it and go up there and punch it out. The warmer the coolant the more dangerous it gets. I recommend doing it with a cold engine. Really no other way to drain the block. I use the coolant one because I think it...
Today I worked several hours getting a class 3 receiver on the 1987 M1028. I need to pull my trailer and haul a lot of scrap this Spring. I will not use my new truck for that task. Not when you have an old truck that can do the job. Putting the hitch on turned out to more of a job then I had...
The day started out well and continued to improve. The rain was heavy a few times during the day but I was working in the barn. I did manage to get the wheels and tires back on my M1009 project. Also I had the front battery dead from letting the B/O lamps on again for a week or more. Jump pack...
