    No start, ?Batts?

Finally got the "new" key switch into the blazer. Now I have the wait light, a GEN 2 light and a clicking noise when I try to turn it over. The batteries were taken out, put on a charger and read as fully charged. They also showed over 13 volts each. Is it possible their still bad. They...

Quick fixes/ emergency repairs/ jerry rigging/ inovations that will get you home.

Here's something I've done in the distant past. Drive around and inspect your local road signs until you find the right size to fix your hole. Nothing says class like seeing "No Parking" when you put it up on a lift.:-D:-D

To Rebuild or not to Rebuild TH400

Yes, stay clear of the 700R4. Not that their bad tranny's, but if the throttle capbe is installed at all wrong you have a fried trans. The OD gearing with M1009 gearing is way off, and everything that bolts to it is wrong in the 400 set-up, so you need to replace tailshaft or driveshaft...

    Need info, can't find it.

I know this has all been covered before, some of it numerous times, but please bear with me. 1. What glowplugs for a manual conversion, no controller card or anything except a switch, a relay, and the plugs? AC60's or Wellman 070's? 2. What size freeze plug heater? 3. Where to find a gas fueled...

    glowplug indicator, old school?

Wondering if I can place a 9nth glowplug inside a steel pipe, with a glass window, facing out of the dash, to indicate how hot the other 8 are? This is similar to the resistor wire used on my tractor as an indication of it's readiness to start.

    batteries!!

Seriously, sometimes a good little drop will help break up the sulfate. I take mine about six inches up off a concrete floor and let them drop flat. Usually does the trick.

    Block heater

Another option is an oil heater. Dipstick, magnet or epoxied mat onto the oil pan. It is very important to have the oil fluid when it starts. I have a lower hose heater, magnet heater on the oil pan and a battery mat heater all on my diesel tractor. When I get my M1009,. likely another...

    More Q's

Re. my M1009 6.2L diesel, Does anyone know the battery configuration for the cucv's? What post where? As these are built on a small block configuration, will small block exhaust manifolds fit? How about freeze plug heaters, are they the same as a small block? I see people are swapping in...

    1. Where are the battery terminals located on a cucv? Are they post or screw, top or front, positive on the left or right? 2. What glow plugs to put in to make it a manual button glow plug system like in the stickies?, my tractor runs like this, and it's fine for me. 3. I'd like to have one...

    Bought a M1009

It did show a pic with two 0's before the 2,500 miles. I realize thats far from a guarantee however. What caught my eye was the lack of any rust and the solid seat covers, no cracks, and original. Thanks for the key info, it's a big help. Curious as to what batteries you all recomend, and any...
