    Yep, my first GSA recovery deuce sat two years minimum and was marked "Doesnt Run". Gave her a jump and in three cycles she was good, later I found out she only cranked on half her pistons (fuel line was stolen). :doh: I have a new level of respect for these engines today.

    If my research proves to be fruitful I would be happy to try in the future. My thought was to have a multi-fuel camper with an auto tranny, so basically a m109 with an auto tranny to make an "easy going" camper. Since M109A4's are uncommon at best and run about 7K thats a bit much for my taste...

    Did she take straight diesel? Was there any noticeable chance in performance compared to a normal 800 series 5 ton? Any idea on MPG or..GPM? :-P

    Didnt tell me much sadly. -"improvement in fuel economy" -- how much? -"extended life" -- how long? -"weight reduction" -- given I admit But it wasnt put into full scale service for a reason. Any idea what it cost to produce this unit?
