Also when scraping glass with a razor blade, I always apply a liberal amount of glass cleaner to the area I'm scraping. Makes scraping a lot easier and seems to be gentler on the glass.

Cranetruck posted the specs for both transmissions in this thread from that TM. Post #6

Theoretically, that may be fine, but with a pretty good load you have to wind up the motor and pray you don't miss 4th or you'll be way below the power band and lugging it. Having an extra gear in between would cut down on a lot of strain on everything.
The problem I am most concerned about is the gap between 3rd and 4th. A higher 5th gear doesn't solve that problem. You could change the transmission out, but then you have to figure something else out for the pto. I'm all for an auxiliary transmission, if they can be cheaply had and are small...
Thanks for the offers, ARYankee and rumplecat. I will let y'all know if other plans don't work out. I could at least make it to Little Rock, I think. Might get you to hold them for me, ARYankee.
Will keep y'all posted.
I spoke with Warthog and he has graciously offered to pick them up and said he knew someone (same guy?) going to LR on the 21st. Hopefully that will work out for all involved. Thanks for the help.
Are you on 540 or 530. I thought 540 went to Fayetteville. At any rate its nice to know that...
I hate to ask this at this time of year, but I was wondering if there was any chance of the SS transport service pulling together again. I bid on two winches in OKC, and didn't really expect to get them. If someone would be willing to pick them up and maybe get them to at least Arkansas, I would...
I agree with KsM715. They changed the front end to accommodate an intercooler. But I'm sure you can figure out a way to install an intercooler without making your truck ugly. As far as engine mounting it probably won't bolt up, but could with a little work. As for engine to transmission, I think...
Yeah, thats no problem. My truck used to haul around a CJ-5 with a 302 and 44" boggers and pull an 18' car hauler with either my buggy or my friends buggy on the trailer. Pulled beautifully.
The manual is TM 5-8025 and I have searched the internet. I found one place that had it listed but they didn't have it. I can find manuals all day long for the Detroits, though. Also, after Portrayal Press said they didn't have I figured it was a lost cause. I could be wrong. It's happened before.
This one has the gas engines, unfortunately. I looked, but I can't find the manuals for it. I asked on here a while back, but nobody had or knew of one. Portrayal Press doesn't have it, either.
