I am not sure I follow what you are saying. The blue knob is what would engage the PTO. This , I understand. But you go on and state to not move a lever to engage the PTO? Are you speaking of the Governor switch by chance?
I will try it next time by engaging the PTO before I start it, but it...
Well it seems logical to engage the PTO in park, then put the thing in drive. It sure would save grinding the gears as they mesh. I am thinking that maybe the switch on the transfer case selector isn't doing it's thing when it is in neutral and it thinks it is still in gear.
Tried to engage the PTO with the transfer case in neutral and the truck died immediately. Did this several times in fact. Sounds as if electrical power is cut because there is no grinding being I have it still in park. Is there a safety switch preventing the truck from running if something is wrong?
Although I can see it would still work, I would like to do away with it if I end up converting the 1031 I just picked up to 12V. As it is I am having weird issues. It acts as if the batteries are dead so I have attempted to jump it off with a GPU that puts out 28V DC and still can't get it to...
I found all basic TMs listed in the very first section of the FAQ sticky at the very top of this forum. Made it much easier to have them listed without all the searching through the whole list of TMs. Now if I can just find the TMs for the 1031 body!
I had that happen to my truck one time. It was an S-15, but the same symptoms. Turned out to be a lose ground under the dash. The ground point on that truck was on lower left between the colum and the kick panel. May not be the issue you have, but it wouldn't hurt to trace the ground for the...
George Williamson at Polk. Dealt with him on several things. My one time at Beauregard was a disaster because it was a new guy in the office. Once past that, it went smooth. Maybe next time it will go much better.
Tanya had to reconstruct my paperwork after someone had moved/misplaced it the evening before. I was thinking "Great! A long drive up here just to have to go back and do it all again". She told me not to fret and had a fix in no time.... She was really good!
I have attempted to get the oil filter O-ring at the local NAPA. I was told that the nearest warehouse that had one was in Houston. They told me the O-ring was $.60 but it would cost $10.00 for the shipping. Any of you have access to a local NAPA that may have one of these and are willing to...
Here is the reply I got by email.
"We did not have any luck on this, Dallas was not able to come up anything. The only thing I could do is go out for price and lead time from Lord direct on a 25 pc min. Let me know if you would like me to go that route. "
I answered that I would see what...
No idea of the price because it had the "request a quote" button instead. I have contacted my Aviall rep and he is attempting to find out the cost. He also is going to try to find someone who may sell lessor quantities. Will post the info when he emails it to me.
